Does Anyone Else in Your Family Ride ?

Who else in your family(past and present) rides ?
My grandfather (Moms side), my Father, both younger brothers, myself , and my son. My son went for more than one ride before he was born!!
Found out later on that my Grandfather gave away an old INDIAN CHIEF when i was about 10 or 12 years old. He knew that i'd get it running and ride it if I knew he had it stashed at the cottage.............thanks Gramps. Didn't want me to ride....it's dangerous you know.

Never pick a fight with an old man..if he's too tired to fight, he'll just shoot you.

I ride
Dad rides
Both of my uncles brothers have bikes. (they dont ride them much anymore...)
Mom used to have a moped and from her stories she was quite a "hooligan"...
My little brother (15 1/2) has his drivers permit and has started nagging dad "when can I get a bike?"

My dad rides still at 78. Three years ago he rode here from Florida, then went to Wisconsin and back to FL.
My two oldest sons (25) ride and my 14 year old has a dirt bike.

As far as I know I am the only person in my ENTIRE family that rides a motorcycle. No one on my father's side, no one on my mother's side. Not even cousins! haha. Although, I guess my grandfather used to have a motorcycle when he was young. But I was young when he passed, so I have no family whatsoever that rides. Eh, they're all missin out.

Being the runt of the litter, apparently I'm the only one stupid enough for this habit.

Siblings are cagers and my Mom had enough trouble behind the wheel of a car.

My Dad tried at the age of 70 or so, and after dropping a big Kawasaki road sow a few times his wife changed his mind on that whole thing.

Me, my uncle (but not much), my oldest brother, several cousins, and I think that's about it. I think dad did when he was younger, but I've never known him to.

Dad stopped riding when he got hip/back problems, early 60's maybe. Of my three brothers-in-law one has always rode, the other two quit riding when they started their families, but one of them just picked it back up again in his 50's.
Neither of my brothers ride. One of them tries to keep his sons away from me as I'm the bad influence.

My brother taught me to ride when I was young, have fond memories of his Yamaha enduros and RD350. He still has a vintage Suzuki GT500 that he putters around with and rides to work. He's the only other one on my side to ride, Ginger had two Uncles that rode a lot and her brother was into dirt bikes.

My dad rode during WWII as an army medical transport. After he got out he always had bikes. One of my brother-in-laws rode. Both of them have left this earth, so I hope they're riding some nice places together now. Other than that, it's just me.

I'm the only one crazy enough to brave the cagers on road anymore. Last family member to ride on road was my Uncle who got t-boned at a light a few years back by a stupid woman yelling at her kids instead of driving. Eighteen family members beside myself ride off-road. Either dirt bikes, ATVs or Snowmobiles (Minnesota transplants).

Two wheelin for the feelin.

my wife rides dirt bikes, used to race motocross. my dad and his brother both ride Harley's, their uncle used to work for Harley so they both got a nice discount before he retired. my dad is still riding his '76 that he is the original owner of, says he has never sat on a bike that fits him better in the last 33 years so why buy something new.

I come from a long line of Midget, Sprint and Champcar racers and there was always motorcycles around our shops. Grandfathers, Dad, Uncles, Cousins and my brother all rode for fun and cheap swift transportation. Interestingly enough they all thought Motorcycle racers were crazy and sort of a "second class racer". Motorcycle racing legend Joe leonard was a family friend and was the butt of many "Motorcycle Racer" jokes as were several other hot-shot Midget and Sprint guys who got their start on two wheels. I was always an outcast in my family because I prefered two wheels to four.

PS...even my Mom rode. I once caught her riding my Hodaka Super Rat around the front yard when I got home from school one day!

My Great grandfather, one Grandpa, my Dad, 3 Uncles (2 street, one dirt), and my daughter went for a ride or two before she was born. The funny thing is when i told my Dad about buying the 9er, " It's gonna be uncomfortable, you'll lose your licence, you'll get uncureable deseases, a puppy'll get sick..."

P.S. He was lookin at a Street Fighter, now he's lookin at a 1300 BMW!!! You don't know the power of the Dark Side...

My dad started me back in the 70's on some old 450. Apparently the exhaust went up the side by your knee. Since I was only about 4, my legs ended right around the pipe and it melted my shoes and my mother always got pissed since we didn't have much money. Bought my first street bike in 1990 and have been riding ever since. My dad bought a Suzuki GS850L in 1982 and is still riding it. He had a stroke a few years ago and is finally on the bike again at 53. I have a brother-in-law riding my old CBR600 and that is it. Only three of us. Kind of sucks.

My dad decided to take the MSF course when I did, just to see what it was like. Both of us have been riding since! Melissa, my wife, has her permit and is eventually gonna take the MSF class and look into getting a bike. My kids ride on my bike with me, and will hopefully take some dirtbike classes to learn to ride. If they like it, then I might look at getting them some bikes. Found a place in Houston that provides the bikes and gear for kid's classes.

My dad (also has a 919), brother, 2 uncles and few cousins, so quite a riding family.

When it comes to friends, I'm basically the only one, apart from a new friend with a CBR600!!! Some people really have no exitement in their life, their highlight of the weekend consists of going to the mall to either watch a movie or drink a latte. I get the old "bike are dangerous" quite a lot when I try to encourage them to give it a go.
