Ciao 696

some little sh*t hit my monster in a parking lot and the insurance company totaled it! so now the dilemma we all love to face. which bike?
had a 919(bought it back 3 times!) now its gone for good. like the FZ8, but that FZ09 sure looks sweet!! but 2 months away. hasn't stopped raining since november, or so it feels like! wait it out or jump right back in? also thought about used SV650 or even CB600 hornet (mrs rides one of those). thoughts

Sorry to hear about the Monster. That's a bike I'd love to have. Any witnesses or way to track down who hit it?

Wait it out and go for the FZ09. Report back for the rest of us.

With the FZ09 coming out, there are super deals ($6000-$6500) on new FZ8's.

If I were in your shoes I'd be heading to the nearest Yammie dealer with deposit money for an FZ09. It's priced right and should be around for a while so there should be good aftermarket support for it. You'll be able to keep spending ca$h like it's 2:00AM and they just hollered 'Last Call'.

The FZ9 gets my vote. But I did see quite a few low mileage 919s on CL today though.

just wrapping up a coupla mods, then pics. patience folks
as for comparo vs 919. i had my 919 back in 02, loved it so much, i bought it back 3 times!! had 2 sets of tins to swap out colors and mood, LOVE me some 919. wife rides the 599 based upon our dating experiences. that being said, it is nice to get back on a UJM vs the italian twin. couldnt see the CB1000 as a viable option, especially given the $. this has the matte finish that the OG 919 had, has the cool "alien" headlight that "the kids are wearing" these days. has the same "happy handle" as the 919. its everything the 919 is $$, grin, looks etc. gonna make some more changes as time goes and will love it like i did the 919. ride friendly!

Andrew, lets go ride those Brutales. The 800s are all sold, but they still have 675s and 1090s they'll let you ride. I love my 919, but after riding the Brutales, it was hard to get back on mine and ride home...
