Pfffttt.... the CX500TC would run circles around that POS
Nope... the Honda was the slowest, the Kawasaki was fastest. In 1985 I flew to Arlington Texas and rode the Yamaha home. It was the closest one that wasn't spoken for. It seemed insanely fast at the time. 90 hp from a 2 valve 650 was impressive at the time. At nearly 600 pounds it's a pig by todays standards.

I owned an '82 CX500 Turbo and rode with a guy who hac the SEGA, his was a faster bike but the Honda had it out teched by a mile! That CX500 was a really great ride and it got a lot more attention than the Sega. Both were really cool bikes and both would easily see nothing but taillights in a race with the Kaw...but the Honda looked like the Starship Enterprise on wheels and although a bit top heavy, rode so darn smooth it was like a limo.
I had the 500T for about 5yrs. Typical Honda, the fit & finish was very good expecially for an '82. In '83 they made a 650T. It looked nearly identical to the 500 but with different paint scheme and it ran better with the Yamaha but still not as quick.
They are all fun!
The coolest Motorcycle commercial ever was the one for the CBR600's and the dude is racing an F-16 through the canyons. At the end of the commercial it says "Ya gotta have wings". Coolest ever.....but Youtube no gots...........
