9er lovefest!

Riding in nightmare traffic yesterday confirmed for the umpteenth time why I made the right 9er choice not buying a heavy clunker.

) Panic stops in freeway traffic for idiot cagers merging was a breeze

) Easily backed up over undulating driveway pavement to park in a corner

) During a stopped light turn I let the clutch out too fast and stalled. It started to tip but being so light easily saved it with my foot.

) Freeway lane merges/changes were easy and inspiring

) Blew past a "sporty" HD...yeah he tried.

I'm in my eleventh month of owning my 9er. As my first bike in almost 25 years, it's awesome how she just invites you to become a more skilled rider and mechanic.

I believe all of the more experienced riders who say that the 9er may not be first-in-class at any one parameter, but is solid overall. Therefore, my goal in my second year is to try to ride as many different bikes as I can.

McCrimmon, RC, ...your thoughts?

I loved the RC ... Just for my riding point in life, it wasn't the correct fit bike for me. Plenty of torque, excellent handling, got looks everywhere I went.

I say ask Motohead about the RC He has a very nice one!

I am so spoiled by 9er's liter-class lightweight docile ride. Although I do dream of a lighter liter CBR1000RR...but my 9er w/storage is way more versatile going places.

To be honest, I was being a wiseass and referring to noted 919 foil RC51_CBRXX--but I enjoyed reading the RC51 props anyway. There WILL be that noted V-twin sharing my saddle time with my 9er by mid-next year!

Hell yeah! We'll swap bikes. What do really think you'll be riding a year from now?

.......... i don't see the 919 being here this time next year... but you have to take into account my lazy factor...

i probably will buy a wrecked sport bike and streetfighter it...

i would say i would be happiest on a streetfightered busa or zx14..... i really wouldnt mind a zx14 but they are ass ugly in the front with the 4 headlights...

who knows i may just buy a dual sport bmw and learn to drink coffee...

Leave out racing against Harley Sportsters. My 99 Miata can do that and it's pretty slow with 140,000 miles on it. On the rest, you are rite on!Bashing other bikes is................

Hahahahahahahahaha...no, seriously, I ever see you in a cafe rolling Euro and sipping from a demitasse-I don't care how long it takes me, I don't care how many attempts it takes, I will absolutely kick your ass.

And eventually you'll just give up and take the ass-beating because deep down you know you'll deserve it.

i really can't make up my mind what i want my next bike to be... that may explain why i didnt get one recently... i rode the 1125r and i honestly have to say i was underwhelmed by the power... that was the weakest 145hp i have ever felt... honestly i think my 919 pulled harder than it did...

i looked at a bandit 1250 last friday and i also looked at a fz1 last friday... but they were asking way too much for them and i wasnt in the negotiation mood... i was in more of a "right.... well keep it then" mood...

i think i am tired... i needa go to bed..

"The weakest 145HP!" But after your ram-jet upgrade?
I'm so 9er spoiled in the middle-weight class, that I refuse to test ride any bike an ounce over 450lb curb! So that eliminates both bandit and FZ. I cycled past a FZ1 getting a speeding ticket today.. I was going faster on my bicycle...he wasn't happy.
