2013 Honda CB1100

Has anyone seen the article in Cycle World about the new retro CB1100 from Honda? Looks pretty interesting....

I haven't seen the article, but have seen a few videos on YouTube, and am in love with it. Brings back memories of some of my old rides

The parts fiche lists the spark plugs at $25.00

Those little spark plug hole covers with the fins are $28.00

Very cool, well done bike. Unfortunately, like many Honda's it's priced a few k more than it should be.

I test rode one a few months ago at a Honda test ride day.

I didn't like it at all, I wasn't expecting a sport but something more like a retro bike (obviously) and for the price, it just sucks.
The motor is great, and I mean great. Everything else around it is not so good, It's like they spent their entire budget on the motor and cheaped out on the rest, it was very bland to me.

If it was 4K less, then it would be okay for the price but here in Canada they want almost 14K for it, and that's just stupid, Limited edition or not. You could build a nice old cb750 for that and still have some left over, atleast then you have the real thing.

Loved the CB500R though , that made up for it after riding the 1100.

I owned a CB1100. As much as I pined for it since I first saw it, it was just completely underwhelming. No soul to it at all and for a sewing machine, it wasn't all that fast either. Yes, it was gorgeous, but boy it sucked in every other department. I doubt anyone on here is in the bike's target demographic. Traded off with 950 miles for a holdover Stateline. The 919 gets the speed itch, the Stateline handles the slow and low.

After getting a glimpse of the performance figures, I didn't ask just why?
I asked WTF? Are you INSANE?

My question for Honda was "What did you seriously think was going on in our old heads that you came up with this completely underwhelming chunk of dross? Did you for one second think we wanted a plate full of old 750 style power out of it along with the faux retro look?"

Man, we aren't that freakin' senile and close to the grave yet.
