World Record Jump

A new world record jump was made - twice!

Enslow Breaks Motorcycle Jump Record - Twice | All About Bikes

Holy cow, all the rage in many forums -

Harley's rule, blah blah blah -

Wait, wait a second.

I remember a kid on a humble little Honda 500, less that half the size of that 1200cc XR Harley - jumping a football field, what is up!

VIDEO: Robbie Madison's record 322-foot jump on New Year's Eve

Then we've got this guy an a Kawasaki 500, he's also hitting about 300 feet -

Ryan Capes 290-Foot Record | Motorcycle Jump | Motorcycle News

Wait, did I say 300? -

400 feet motorcycle jump - new world record

Anyway, I guess the Harley set a new record for Harley's - what amazed me was how many "Harley" riders assumed that it was THE world record.

And when confronted with the facts, these "lifestylers" had to face reality -

That possibly, they were posers.......

No offense to the real deal Harley riders, we've all got our posers, heck, all they need to do is ride more and talk (type) less!

I saw that on the morning news the other day and was not impressed. Especially after following Enslow, Capes, and Madison's jumps over many years.

Maybe it was a world record jump for a Harley, but jumping more than twice that distance is no longer considered a big deal for any other motorcycle.

Hey - it even made it to the news in New Zealand!

Apparently the huge Harley jump was so big it cracked the frame ...

I did think to myself about the weird segregation in motorcycling - it was stated as a Harley world jump record.

Well woop-de-shit is there a Honda world record, BMW, Suzuki, Aprilia etc. No sir there is not.

Even magazine reviews tend to review HD bikes as a separate entity and not compare them against the equivalent sized etc Jap cruiser.

Nice bikes and I think they certainly have superb marketing people but I don't understand the gold-plated pedestal they sit upon. How many times have you been somewhere new and meeting new people who when they find out you ride immediately ask 'Is it a Harley'.
