TK421 was in BAD wreck...he's in hospital (PLEASE READ)

Dear Wrist Twister friends of TK421,

I just wanted to let you all know that my dear husband Scott, AKA "TK421" was in a BAD motorcycle wreck on Wednesday night. I wanted to let you all know, because he was very active with this group, I know.

I don't have time to write all the details right now, as I am off to the hospital to be with him. I am attaching a letter below from a friend of mine that is updating friends and family via internet.

I will try to post an update in a couple days for you all. PLEASE keep him in prayer, as it will be a VERY LONG and difficult journey ahead, and pray for me and our 6 children that the Lord will provide for us and help us through this. Scott was our financial provider, as I am going to college at night to be an RN and during the day I homeschool our children.......and as of today, we only have about $500 in our personal bank account as of today.

I know that it will all work out somehow, and Scott WILL walk again someday....hopefully soon.

THANK YOU ALL for your prayers and concern. I will tell Scott (TK421) that I posted on here and if you want to contact him or me, the info is in the following letter from my friend Lisa.

GOD BLESS you all.

Cheryl (TK421's wife of 15 years)
Psalm 103

************************************************** ******

Dear Friends,

As some of you know, Scott was in a serious motorcycle accident on Wednesday evening (August 29th 2007) with serious injuries.

He has a fractured shoulder, injured his left knee, right heel of foot, and surgery to reconstruct the top femur bone (the ball part of the thigh bone that goes into hip socket....because it was shattered into 3 pieces) AND they did surgery on his pelvic bone to repair multiple fractures/breaks (front right in 2 places and in the back of it where it had been separated).

He was taken to Melbourne FL to the trauma unit, and had his surgery there. He is know in stable condition has been transported back to Ft. Pierce Florida. Scott will be hospitalized for several months with further rehabilitation and therapy for possibly a year or two.

The doctors said he cannot put ANY pressure on right side for 3 months and will not let him attempt to walk for 3 to 6 months with a walker and help, as not to do further damage and require more surgery. The doctors say he may walk for a year to 18 months, so this will be a LONG and tough road ahead.

Scott does NOT have health insurance, and he will NOT be able to work at his trade EVER again, so he will need to change carreers.

He was a plasterer by trade and was the soul provider for the family.

Cheryl is in college to pursue a degree to become an RN (registered nurse), and will not be finished with all the pre-requisites and nursing program for approximately 2-3 years.

As most of you know, Scott and Cheryl are the blessed parents of 6 (yes, SIX) precious children. They are in need of prayer and support to make it through the tough times ahead.

With Scott out of work and no income now for the family...... They REALLY need financial help, words of encouragement, support, and prayer.

Therefore, we have set up a Family Needs Fund at National City Bank.

To make a donation, checks may be made payable to Scott Sample Family Needs Fund or Cheryl Sample at any National City Bank location.

We are working on organizing a fundraiser for the family in the near future. If you would be interested in helping with the fundraiser or to get bank location information please contact:

Ann Marangio at [email protected]

Shelley Bach (772) 979-1051

and/or

Lisa Newell at [email protected]

To contact Scott and Cheryl directly, PLEASE email them at:

[email protected]

or via her myspace account. (posted below)

We will be opening a paypal account to directly deposit money donated to Scott and his family and opening a P.O. box to mail funds to be deposited into their trust fund account. There is an overseer on the trust fund account so that people who are giving financially will know that the funds will be towards bills, food, and needs. (although the Sample family is honest, they wanted someone to be accountable to and so that people giving would know that all money donated to them WILL be used honestly and is GREATLY appreciated)

Thank you for all of your prayers and support.

Sincerely,

Lisa Newell
(a friend of Cheryl and Sister in Christ Jesus)

P.S.
If you know Scott's cell phone number, or would like it, you can use the above names to get it to contact Scott and Cheryl.

PLEASE foward this to all your family and friends and ask them to PRAY!!!

PSALM 103

Trusting In Jesus,
The Sample Family

I'm so very sad to hear about what happened to Scott. I will say a prayer for him. When the Paypal account is opened, please post the e-mail address here so that we can make donations. If you are active members of a church, you should discuss the situation with your priest or pastor. They may be able to help as well.

God bless you and your family.

Cheryl, Scott, and your children, my heartfelt wishes and prayers are with you all. We're all here for you even though we're spread out across the country. I hope that we can help you all, and pray that the doctors way underestimated Scott's resilience and his recovery time is truncated. We all thank God for Scott still being alive, but we understand that the journey ahead of you is going to be a hard one. Again, let us know if we can do something.

My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.

I'm sure a lot of us on here, including me, can affirm that God has brought us through a lot. He will bring Scott and your family through this. As others mentioned, lean on your family, close friends, and church. I am sure there are a lot of folks willing to help in any way that they can.

Scott, you, your children, and your finances are in my prayers. Also that the doctors have over estimated his recovery time and the fact that he can't work in his career again. Please repost as soon as you get the paypal account set up.

I used to bank with National City in Illinois. I wonder if they are taking donations as well, maybe I can get friends back home to help out.

May God bless you and your family.

Brings up a good point though... How many of you guys ride without insurance - medical and are sole providers for the family?
