Sweet! I've had my GMC Sierra going on eight years. Best vehicle I've owned! You're gonna love it!

I plan to die young, as late as possible.

Tbone... I have noticed that..I do alot of highway driving and I have no clue how fast I am going because the ride is so nice...and in 07/08 they redid alot of the suspension so it is sooooo plush now!! ( IDK what year Z71 you have) it is just cool saying i have a Z71 4x4.... sounds so mean!! it sits outside my window at work!

also T we got the 4x4 because I am from PIttsburgh and I am sure I will end up moving back there in the next few years... FL is ok...but you have to love The "Burgh!

There's really not a whole lot of difference between a standard 4x4 and the Z71 except the suspension. I know what the other things are but they are subtle. The suspension difference is amazing though. If you drive the same truck in a 4x4 and then a Z71 outfit you can really tell. At one time I think the shock package was designed by Bilstein. May still be, not sure. They sure don't ride like a truck though.

I have a 2001 Silverado Z71, I have put around 80,000 miles on it with no problem except for a recall on the tailgate cables, they are now stainless steel. Biggest difference between the 4x4 and the Z71 is the suspension package and you get some nice goodies like undercarriage skidplates.

It's interesting how many of us own full-size GM trucks. Much more interesting is the Z71 commonality that many of us share. Mine’s a Z71 as well.
Maybe a poll is in order?
