I took the Triumph Trophy out today for a quick ride -- Northern California has been hammered
by rain the past few weeks.
Today was supposed to be overcast, breezy, but no rain.
I wasn't sure my main road would be in any condition to ride... but I had to get out.
There were small landslides in the main canyon which swept a fair amount of gravel right in the blind spots, but other sections of the road were terrific.
Quite a bit of water about -
Still early spring, but a few wildflowers are doing their thang...
More water -- this probably seems unimpressive to most of you, but I've been riding this road for ~15 years now, and while there can be water in the streams, there's never flowing
California Poppies poppin' early
My route / direction had me coming in the "back way" towards the largest Mountain (Hamilton) in the bay area - at ~4000 feet, it still has snow on it, and for the first time I can ever remember, they actually closed the road in the back direction. ( The "front side" faces San Jose, and people with no business driving on snow or ice try to come up and play - they're always turned around. )
