Stranded on my bike...

Premise - It has been almost one month since I have driven my car. It was involved in a three car accident on July first. Car is not fixed.

Reality - I only have my Tiger in the garage. For one month I have ridden my Tiger everywhere I have gone (with exception of a two day rental car spree).
Impressions...
1) I forgot how much fun riding in the rain is.
2) Boy is it easier on the wallet (42mpg)
3) Work clothes are suffering from wind - my ties are getting frayed and my pants a little wrinkled before work.
4) Commuting is fun
5) I drink much less (I refuse to drink any amount of alcohol and ride)
6) Drinking less is cheaper on the wallet
7) Grocery shopping requires planning
8) I am sure I will think of more....

I was like that for 2-1/2 years in College, with my 650 Nighthawk. I had saddlebags, a backpack, and tank bag ready to be stuffed for the weekly grocery run (you can fit alot of Ramen noodles in a tank bag). Rain or shine, hot or cold, all I had was that bike to get around. It was great, though.

That's cool, man. I've been similarly stranded for close to 3 weeks now. The battery died on my car, so I replaced it. The very next day, the rear brake line blew out. Weather was good, so I let it sit for a while. Finally decided to take it in, went to start it, and the starter is dead...I'll bang it w/ a hammer to get it started, but between that and using the foot pedal e-brake to get to a repair shop should be interesting...

My goal is simple. It is a complete understanding of the universe, why it is as it is and why it exists at all.
