protective case for Droid X

ok, so I bought a new Droid X phone last week. I'm looking forward to being able to use it for a plethora of things, like calling people, listening to music, GPS....hell, there is probably a garage-door opener app...

I'm hoping someone here has a link to where I can find a nice clear-front case to hold this little gem, do that I can find a way to affix said device on my bike for easy (yet protected) use while riding

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

OtterBox and Pelican are among manufacturers for that kind of case.

You can see the Pelican item at: Pelican i1015 iPhone / Smart Phone Micro Case - Clear from Pelican-Case.com

It is advertised as an iPhone case, but the applications include Droid.

i have an evo. waterproof case? why? get a double seal freezer bag and wrap it when you feel some drops. Thats what i do. And my advice - if your thinking about riding, gps, music, and its raining? your crazy.

I picked up a rocketfish branded bicycle mount for my niner this summer, attached with a better top mount and rode 120mph and the only problem i had was a bug hitting the headphone cord. Now, i have bluetooth yay!

heres a pic of it mounted in the middle of my handlebar:
mount | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

heres a link for the mount:
Rocketfish Bicycle and Car Mount for MP3 Players Reviews | 5 reviews | Buzzillions.com

heres the better top mount that can attach:
Mobile Grip-iT Universal Holder | Bracketron

overall, its the best "non-drill, no magnet, not $99" solution out there. YMMV but i love my mount.

Oh, and heres the 10 hour battery life bluetooth cans i picked up:
LG Bluetooth Stereo Headset HBS-700

I like them, in ear light, good volume - and im not affiliated with any website, just trying to help a fellow smartphoner.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

Not yet, I did that with my last phone, ATT Tilt, waiting to see what 2.2 does for me before I go that route.

I'm trying to wait for it, don't really want to root the phone, I NEED voice dialing and other voice functions, if it works well, I don't need to buy a Garmin...

running macnut r10 on my samsung vibrant. It runs like a damn raped ape, supports animated gifs, flash, GPS actually works for a change, but battery life sucks major ass (makes an iPhone look good.) I'm having to charge it 3x a day. Would probably be 2x if I had decent reception at the office. Used to be I could go 24hrs on a charge and still have some gogo juice left.

if you love your motorcycle, set it free.. if it comes back and hits you.. you highsided

Awesome! Tip: spray the metal pin that clamps tight at the stem with some wd40- you'll thank me when it prevents rusting tight. Mine almost did until I took the brillo pad to it and then did that.

Hope you like it. If not, it was only $10 bucks. The big part however is getting that bracketron top part...it holds the phone ultra tight and has better side adjustments.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

I recieved my rocketfish mount today...I can see what you mean about the grabber thingie...is the bracketron actually much better?

I have some ideas for fabbing a better holder, we'll see how it turns out. That's for tomorrow, Tonight I need some rest!

Oh, and +1 about the WD-40

Yes. The bracketron is flat density foam, not that crappy rubber stuff on the rocketfish one. You slam that against your Droid nice and tight and it won't budge. Even at 120mph. Oh, and I mounted mine "backwards" so the phone is at more of a downward angle. Trust me, get the bracketron part, and if you don't like it, ill buy it from you as a spare!

I would snap more pics but the bike is in storage now, and the mount is off and used in the srx right now.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

I could modify the rocketfish with some nice 2" velco strip from Home Depot....
