Phobman Stand Group Buy

Hey guys, I just talked to the man himself, he may make more of his center stands if there's enough people that want one. Anyone else interested?

Its gotten so bad here that unless sellers are shipping via Global Shipping program or USPS then its not worth it.

I once bought brakes and the damn brokerage (not the tax) was almost the cost of the brakes themselves. And, they wont take plastic at the door. Cash only.

I've sold several to Canadians, the biggest problem is the customs charges. Most Canadians have me ship it to someone they know across the border and they pick it up and visit friends at the same time!

Thinking outside the box here, would a DIY proposition be possible here?

I'd rather send PHOBMAN the duty fees to cover his R&D and then build it myself here, then be sad and curse my wallet because I had to pay customs import stuff on top of the item price itself.

Just throwing it out there from the perspective of a Bang for your buck kind of guy from Canada..

Food for thought.

I did that once, and the person re-designed it to his way and never reported how successful it was. The trouble with that is if it is not well made and fails, I will be blamed for a lousy product. Don't want to put myself in that kind of vulnerable position!

Screw that guy; you shouldn't feel bad if both parties had an agreement.

I'd be up for sending you some money in exchange for details on how to build it.

And I definitely wouldn't stray from a proven design, especially since I'm no master at this stuff...AND I care about my motorcycle's safe being while not on terra firma :P

Send me a PM if you'd like to reach a deal. If not I"ll wait and see the full cost + shipping, but then there's no guarantee that I might purchase if the cost is too high.

Seeing as the packed weight will surely not exceed 20 pounds nor exceed the USPS dimensional limits, THE best means is USPS's Priority Mail International flat rate service.
It's cheap, and goes into the Canada Post system.
It will come in duty free.
Any C P brokerage charges are small, and you don't need a broker.
True, Phobman would need to fill out some paperwork, but it's pretty minor stuff and once the first one is done, all the rest will be cookie cutter class.

If that's the solution cool. Which ever solution is the best bang for your buck I'm in

It fits in a 12 x 12 x 18" box and weighs 8.5 lbs packed, UPS is usually $18 to most US destinations, I've only shipped USPS to Australia, and that was only $50 some time ago!

For sure it will be way less than $50 from you via USPS.
Some sellers want a few $$ for doing the paperwork and the drop off at USPS.

I've been rocking a Phobman stand forever. My 919 is stored for the winter on it as we speak. I had it shipped to Canada with out any drama and I don't remember having to pay any extra fees but it was a while ago so maybe I did.

anybody have a picture of the phobman stand ?

Would I be able to take off both wheels while on the stand ?
Or at least one wheel (front OR rear?) looking to update my forks and I want to see if I can do it myself using the stand or if I have to take it to mechanic.

Might be able to save some money if I can.

You can easily take off one, to take off both you'll need to support the front slightly (a jack under the header works fine) but it's very doable

Good to know.

I'm guessing the phobman stand is towards the center of the bike ?

It mounts to the center stand mounting points, so yes.

I too would like to buy one.
It will make an ideal stand for doing rear spring and/or shock length changes in the shop or at the track.
Fast setup for nice stable support.

its a replacement temporary center stand that uses the factory mounts. Cant really use the under frame style jack since there is no frame there. The pit stands work, but I want to pull the front triples off my bike easily.
