new 919 rider checking in

recently purchased a 03 919 w/04 forks for 3200 after riding a Nighthawk750 for the last few years; what a difference! I live in Arkansas, home of some of the best twisties, and the Hornet is the bike of choice for the Ozarks as far as I'm concerned. We did a 600 mile shakedown ride last weekend, and i couldn't be happier with how she handled, including the 1.5 hour slab ride to get to the two lane; will be mounting a Shad top case on it to hold my cameras, camping gear, etc, and I'll be good to go...

Welcome again! looks like you have a good setup there! If I'm out in Arkansas later this summer, I'll be sure to say hello!

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

Welcome to WT. I am guessing you bought the bike from a member who refered you here?

I wonder what would ever make you think the previous owner was a member here?

So... Who did you get your new bike from?

not sure his actual online handle, but I think it was something along the lines of rzrbkr? real nice guy, very complimentary of this site, said ya'll had the most info on the Hornet... if you ever get over this way, give me a shout and I will hook you up with some of the best twisties around. i have a website, Arkrider.com, where I go out and take pics of bikes on the weekends, it takes me to some pretty obscure back roads around the Ozarks, and I talk to many riders who are completely blown away with our roads...

That be Dave aka razorbike. Dave designed the original Hornet decal.

Hi and Welcome,

Nice looking bike, congratulations. I'm working on getting myself a 919. I have to sell my CBR600F3 first. I shouldn't have a problem as my F3 is pristine. I wish many happy, safe miles.

Manuel

Thumbs up

thanks to all for the hospitality, wow.... I can't recommend the 919 enough, fast enough to get a major rush but not so twitchy and high strung to keep one from being comfortable on 300+ days... just ordered a Pilot Road 2 rear from compacc, what a cool bike and site, many thanks, Dave, if you are out there still...

Hey Bret! Glad to hear you're enjoying the 919. I know you got a good 'un there! It's crazy to see it all loaded up with the camping gear!

Yep - I'm still hanging out here now and then. Still have a few parts for sale in the classifieds and have completed a couple of transactions. Even though I'm bikeless for now, I'll be sticking around because this place is WAY too addictive. Glad to see you listened to my advice and joined up.

By the way - I have that service manual ready CD whenever your in the area. Give me a shout and swing by some time.
