Needing a little help

So, I went and test rode and actually bought a VTX1300. I haven't taken delivery of it yet and am wondering if anyone knows if I can back out of it. It was a bit of an impulsive purchase and one that I don't really need. Please help if anyone knows something more than I do. Thanks.

I filled out the finance app and everything. No money down. All the paperwork is done, I think. I have a feeling I'm hosed on this one.

Tell them something came up and you have to back out. If it never left the lot they should be able to cancel it. Just because you are preapproved for financing doesnt mean you own it. You might only be able to get something else for the same value. Buyers remorse laws are in place for a reason. You might be effed but id talk to the dealership asap.

I'm going to give them a call tomorrow, and see if I can't get out of it. I've really got my fingers crossed. As much as I'd love to add to the stable, I went out and gave the 9er a good thrashing this afternoon and realized why I'll love it forever and cruisers just suck ass (in my opinion).

I don't think that'll fly, but who knows. Maybe someone in the house will get some incurable disease and I'll have to stop the sale. Maybe it's lupus...

Just tell them you changed your mind. Most states have provisions for impulse buys. You don't even have the thing yet.

I'm really hoping so. They're pretty cool since I've bought 2 bikes prior from them. I'm hoping they'll let me out of it.

I'm no expert, but I'd say at a minimum - do not take delivery.

If you get grief, it might be worth spending a little money to talk to a lawyer about what happened and what your rights are in this case ( within your state.)

You: "Hi Bike Shop. I've decided I don't want the bike. Sorry about that."
Them: "Well, you signed everything so it's yours. It's financed and you'll receive your first payment due in 30 days."
You: "Oh. That's terrible. I guess I'll have to find a lawyer who can help me resolve this. "
Them: "Go ahead."
You: Go ahead.

Well, I don't want to be an ass about it; they're good people. If it was a bunch of skazwags, maybe. I know there were other people interested and they'll have no problem selling it.

If they let you out of it make sure you turn up the next day with a couple dozen for the lads as a thank-you.

But FFS don't sit down and help them drink them as you'll end up signing up for another bike!

Update! Well, i called them. Talked to the sales manger, who said he'd have to talk to the owner. I'm really hoping they'll let me out of it. I'd even pay documentation fees if I had to.

The "oh shit" law in MN doesn't apply to cars, but not sure about bikes. I think it's the same in Iowa. If they have started the title paperwork then you are probably done for. If they have not, then you may luck out. If it gets titled, its been sold and therefore becomes a used vehicle and they will take a hit on it. Good luck

Well, it was used to begin with, and i never took delivery, so the bike is still actually at the dealership. I think if they just shred all the documentation and cancel the loan, whats the harm?

If they are cool and understand you where in a whimsical, irresponsible mood and your gf/old lady shit directly into the upwind side of the industrial fan when she found out and you were sitting down wind and caught most of the slice and dice and actually ingested some.....get it?

If you did not sign anything, I think you are in the clear.

You may be asked for a deposit on your next purchase.
