I haven't been working out enough for several months, so recently I'm making an effort to go cycling three times a week. I went for an excellent mountain bike ride yesterday at a hilly park with a dirt biking friend. The knobby tires were heavy with mud making a bonus workout. Every time I dream of getting into dirt dirt biking, duh I already am with pedal power! Several dirt cycling venues are conveniently close, as opposed to burning tanks driving across the state for BLM land. Bicycle maintenance is easy and cheap, for I hosed off the mud in 5m and lubed the chain. Cycling delivers an excellent cardio workout, and my scale approves! In winter watch the week's weather forecast to plan your rides. I wait for dirt trails to drain three days after a heavy rain to avoid damaging them in pea soup. Road cycling is safest when dry and visible. Get out there and enjoy cycling!
