Moped Stunting

OK, fess up. Who here has ever stunted a moped sometime in your life?

I remember a few hours of mayhem in my younger days that consisted of the following ingredients:

1 Moped
3 Cinderblocks
1 Sheet of plywood
3 acres of wet grass

Mopeds are like fat girls; everyone likes to ride them, they just don't want their friends to see them doing it!

But what happened to them? Have they been replaced by scooters? I never see them anymore? Is the "liquor-sickle" a thing of the past?

My buddies and I were Active Duty Army in Germany. We took a week vacation down to Spain and rented mopeds one day. We beat the hell out of them up and down the sidewalks, jumping curbs, on the beach, general mayhem everywhere. Not sure if that is stunting, or just being dumbasses.

Yes, I would say they have been replaced by scooters. No need to pedal when you can text your way out of trouble...

In 2005 I happened to be in Dayona during bike week with a bunch of friends - we had all gone down to compete in a FL quad race and stayed down there to do another race the following weekend in GA. A bunch of us decided to rent mopeds for three of the days and we rocked bike week as a gang of mopeders. We had some real good late night runs/races that probably never should have been done... Cruising on the beach itself was pretty fun though! I'll have to find some pics...

I "wheelied" a scooter down duval street (key west) to the point of scraping the tag while burning a hog leg and a hooker was flashing me his/her (I said it was key west) boobs.... true story can't make that up.

I can't speak from experience, but a couple of my buddies have and from what I hear they're a real hoot to ride. You can ride em hard and relatively fast without having to worry about much, easy on the maintenance....

Scooters look fun too. I've always wanted to try one of them Ruckus.

Buddy of mine just bought one. The previous owner had stretched it 8in, and he threw on some ape hangers. Gotta get some pics of that thing. Guess it's a blast to cruise around on.

I own a 07 Ruckus and I wouldn't give it up for anything! It's a blast to ride. A little under powered maybe but I can hit 40 mph and I guess I don't need to go any faster in town. Great little beer runner. Not much of a stunter though. If you are bored check out TotalRuckus.com - The Honda Ruckus, Zoomer, Metropolitan Big Ruckus Discussion and Forum Owner HQ. It amazing some of the mods that people do to these.
