In this day of texting and talking on cell phones it's best to take nothing for granted.

There are some real WTF moments in that video.

The driver of the white bus gets the avoidance award.
The two firetrucks... well... hmmmph.

I capitalize the real white knuckle ride in countries, But what a RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yea Look both ways as many times as it takes. Yesterday my daughter was like it's clear Dad while we were on the M/C and being an old Airplane guy if I do not hear "Clear Right" or "Clear Left" I do a double take in both directions.

Take nothing for granted, ride with GOD and I pray everyone makes it to where they are going!

I Can and will ride anything!

Scary stuff, although I was pretty happy to see most of the runners are the ones getting blasted. Maybe they will learn something.

The two that were the worst was the one in Chicago where the guy turning right hit the pedestrians - looked like a parent and their child. You can see the balloon floating away after they get hit. Having a 2 year old and one on the way, that made me feel two things: Turn-my-stomach-scared for the kid and wishing I had a shotgun for the driver of the car.

I LOVE blasting out into an intersection, especially with a 919, but I DON'T exactly for that reason. Of the three accidents I've been in (all in cages, thank goodness) two of them were because someone ran a red light. One of them was pretty bad and almost seriously hurt my wife. Lady was talking on her cell phone; didn't even brake.

Also, and take this as advice if you want, I ALWAYS keep my eye on my mirrors when pulling up at an intersection. I don't trust them to stop and until I've got 3000lbs of metal stopped behind me do I feel a bit better. A couple passing through our town just got killed (both on one bike) when someone sandwiched them into the car in front of them stopped at a red light.

Anyways, I'm ranting. Drive/Ride safe.

the sad part is the authorities know this intersection is f'd up (most of the video of the same intersection) and don't do chit about it except installing red light camera to generate revenues. It's clearly an issue with the setup, if so many drivers run the red at the same spot. This span wire traffic signal setup is illegal in NJ, except for the temporary use

I say a little flash prayer everytime I get on the bike.
Thanks for that video. Just reinforced my nervousness at intersections. I always look right and left, especially before pulling off when I'm first in the queue. When I'm first at a red right, I usually keep an eye on the mirrors.

That white bus, I shoudln't laugh (excuse my sick humour), but it has "Activity Bus" written on the the back of it!!

EDIT: to above message

The other really bad one was of course the guy on the moped at the end doing a 540 or whatever he did before landing on the car. Glad he was moving at the end; hopefully he was ok.

That's an amusing video, until you take into account all the injuries and massive property damage it represents...then it's pretty depressing. It's a great reminder of why we should all keep our situaltional awareness keyed up and plan escape routes when stopped at intersections...not that it would have mattered in a lot of those clips.

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!
