Hope so. Power grid interruption can slow your life way down. I've been thru that.

Add to that all the other possible services he could be without and life can take a nasty turn real quick.

Good Christ, if that page is accurate they are coming nearly every half hour sometimes more. Never experienced one so can't say what a 3 or a 4 feels like, but I would suspect after a 7.2, anything will get you jumpy.

Just noticed on other posts that his location is Christchurch, NZ, right in the middle of it........Seeing how there has been no death report we can be sure just his infrastructure has been put out of order for time being and will probably remain down for some time.....Just hope he and his family are okay.

They're still getting aftershocks. Looks like a lot of the power and water is back on. Cool temps down there.

Thanks for the kind thoughts guys.

Pretty messed up in my neck of the woods. It is a weird one - some areas of Christchurch are wrecked and others untouched. Many historic building are stuffed and being knocked down.

My house has take an beating - cracks everywhere and the floor is now unlevel. I've a stream running through the front of my section and the house has moved down a bit towards it, plus the other side (road side) has gone the other way! Consequently the stream is now about 250mm narrower than it was a week ago. I do have a really good wheelie ramp on the drive leading up to the bridge though and my son has tried it out on his push-bike!

The school my kids go to, directly over the road from me has been shut and it will need a total rebuild apparently. Two of my neighbours homes have jumped off their foundations but one directly next door is fine!

On the bright side everyone is unhurt.

HOWEVER

The worst thing is the bitch flipped my bike over! It was parked in the garage on the side stand and I found it lying on it's right side - somewhere during the big one it stood up and flipped over the opposite way! No forward movement - I'd expected it to roll off the stand. Mind you it was pretty violent.

Just a few cosmetic bits that I can see scuffed up, so I need to start up a parts list. The annoying thing is that it will not be worth making an insurance claim due to the excess and 25% no-claims discount.

I'd be happier if the bloody after shocks stopped - couple of 4.2 this morning - they just slam through the house leaving a rattle. We are well over 200 aftershocks now.

Still the sun is out and the weather is warming (Spring here). Time to get riding again I think.

Man what a relief that you and your family are okay. Of course it sucks to hear about the bike but when the owners aren't hurt then it isn't all that bad. If you find any parts in Colorado I have no problem shipping any parts over to you.

Wow it's good to see you here, bro. What a ride you are going through! I've been through a ton of E-Quakes but nothing like the series you are going through. Can you post up some pics to make a place for history here at WT? Is there anything I can help with or we can help with? PM me if there is something I can send from America to help. Glad to do what I can. Don't hesitate!
