Great two-wheeled weekend

No photos from either day (I REALLY need to start bringing my camera!!)

Saturday was 70 degrees and sunny so I called my friend with a TL-R 1000 and said lets go ride. We headed out towards Mt. Rainier and spent 5 hours riding some of the twisty roads at the foothills of the mountain. We kept a pretty good pace all day and his twin sounds mean with Yoshi exhaust, but the 919 stayed right with him! I had a grin on my face all day long.
For a bike that is not considered great at anything, the 919 sure is a blast to ride!

Sunday I loaded up the dirtbikes at 5am (CRF450X and the wifes CRF230f), and drove a couple hours east to do a poker run in the desert. She's a beginner and was slow, but she completed the course and did surprisingly well on some pretty rough terrain - lots of rocks, sand whoops, dunes and hills. She only got scared once, at the top of a steep rocky downhill, but she finally when down. After lunch she was tired so she stayed at the truck and I went back out for another loop, but instead of the regular course we decided to challenge the IronMan course - add-on sections with MILES of sand whoops - it was absolutely exhausting! When I got back to the truck I was done!
The CRF450X is an absolutely amazing bike and always a blast to ride. At times is borders on magical with how well it performs in even the most brutal conditions.

Aside from a couple bruises, some sore muscles and a sprained thumb from a high-speed get off through the sand whoops, the entire weekend was a blast.

Note to self: START BRINGING A CAMERA ON RIDES

Yep. You need pictures.

Glad you got a couple of good rides in though. I still have bikes on stands with no batteries in. I think that will change this week.
