General flap......

Been working hard. 20 something days in a row. Finally....FINALLY got my new Metzler on the back of my 10R yesterday and put some shine n fluff to her. Chain is looking brand new, with 23,000 miles on her mind you. I love the ERV Gold. I gave the girl some badly needed Honda Polish. My right fork seal is getting on, slight sheen. Looks like I'll be pulling the sticks and giving them to Danny the Mech @ Precision MC here in Goleta CA. At that time, I'll pull the steering and repack the bearings. Going over the bike I see where there are cracks showing up in the plastic at the points where they are screwed into the frame. I've dealt with this before. I find some brass shimstock, cut it to shape and glue it to the back of the affected area. This has worked those vibration induced stress f/ups. At 46,000 miles plus, I am not surprised at this..........bike is an 04. I'm hoping the wife will give me a few bucks and send me on my way today so I can break the tire in properly and have some mangia on the way.
I'm going to try the Michelin pilot 2's the next time around. Looking forward to the dual compound.
Well, back to work.......the thermal soak is over and it's time to test.

I just got a call from a local guy who said he had my 10R registration slip..........

I remember exactly the instance I lost it. Rear cowl jumped up and nudged me last time out on her. Seems I didn't latch it dutifully. Pulled over, set it in place and pushed until it clicked and got on with the ride. It was a ride on the crapped out rear with the cords showing through, just to get rid of the gas in the tank as I had no prospect time ID'd for a new rear skin.

Thanks go out to Councilman Easton for the good neighbor help.

Ya know, I think it's easier if you use a .410 for hunting doves. Keeps the blood smear off your visor

I almost hit a turkey on my labor day marathon ride. Had the video rolling too, glad it wasn't one of those youtube "oh shit, look what happened to this guy" videos.

Excellent - get out and scrub that tyre in!

While dream surfing the net last night I visited Motorcycle Parts Motorcycle Performance Parts motorcycle Accessories for High Performance - man there are some good tyre prices there presently! At those prices it would be worth shipping them to New Zealand!
