Geek Stuff: Iwatch, GPS, Maps, Navigation

So...we got my son (he's turning 18 this year along with his twin) an iwatch a year back.
Seems since he runs X-C, he's a bit intimidated and thinks he's gonna break his watch so he doesn't use it.
Therefore, it has been bestowed onto me (wow...I got a nice gift for just bein' me - go figure).

Anyhoot, I notice that as I learn about this "magical" device it has this "haptic" functionality to it. Meaning....it'll give me these little taps on my wrist when a call comes in, and espeically when I'm navigating round town if I told my iphone to "get directions to XYZ address".

it's kinda neat. I've been considering the best way to include this little magical gem into my riding.

Now, I know, some of you will say..."but when you go out to ride, it's best to 'get lost', that's how you'll discover new roads"......yeah yeah I know. I'm not that kinda rider. I like to know "Point A".......where I've started to "Point B"...where I'm ending up.

So, in conjunction with what others have done with their I-Watch......how have those of you who have one, use it for navigation?
Be as detailed as possible.
I'm interested.

I don't. I can't feel the haptic when I'm riding because of all the other factors like wind, vibrations in the bar, bumps, etc. I have paired it with my headset for music in the helmet, but realized that I am better off using my phone for everything. I have the iPhone paired with my Sena and use it for navigation as well as music. Mounted to my bars using a Ram mount. Watch is useful for many other things.

ok...I thought that'd be the case. Oh well....it was worth asking to see how others use their iwatch as it relates to gps'ing.
thanks Bart.
