Crashes Bike, Commits Suicide?

I wonder if the guy was suicide mad about wrecking his bike, was in a lot of pain and no help came by, had an accidental discharge during the wreck, or something else...

Police: Motorcyclist killed himself after crashing into a deer in western Pennsylvania

CRABTREE, Pa. Police believe a western Pennsylvania motorcyclist who struck a deer with his bike killed himself after the crash. State police say 47-year-old William Amos, of Export, Westmoreland County, likely died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Amos' body was discovered Friday under his bike near a dead deer in the roadway in Crabtree, about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. Investigators initially suspected Amos died from injuries sustained in the crash, but they discovered a handgun and a bullet wound to the back of his head after lifting the bike off his body.

State police Tpr. Stephen Limani says investigators are still awaiting the results of gunpowder residue tests and toxicology results.

That's just weird...

In 1915 T. Roosevelt said, in a speech to the KofC, "There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all. "

Hmmm, makes me wonder. Usually when people off them selves with a gun its either in the mouth, in the forehead or in the temple. Rarely do people shoot themselves in the back of the head, thats the part makes me think...

+1. Was he chased? Is the gun registered to him?

Get a toy gun, and attempt to shoot yourself in the back of the head........

It is hard, if at all possible with the dexterity of some folks especially after such a severe crash and being pinned under his bike, man he could still retrieve his conceled weapon and off himself?

Not 100% Impossible, but not probable in my opinion, and that a a buck fifty might get you a cup of Joe.....

He was still wearing his gloves, but they had not checked them for GSR. I think they are fishing for clues into the murder of the guy personally but that's just a guess. I'm willing to bet we'll never hear a follow up story either.

Anyone consider the gun might have accidentally gone off during the wreck?

And shot him in the back of the head? Possible if he was packing it behind his back. Many questions. We need more info.

One article I read says he was not wearing a helmet (it's optional here in PA). Does sound weird - I was actually thinking about the accidental discharge during the wreck as a possibility... I'll keep my eyes open for an follow-up articles, but it rare you see them...

On a side note, a guy in a pick-up truck hit a 480 pound bear in the center of the state today... Imagine hitting that on a cycle - if the impact didn't kill you the mauling from one pissed off bear sure would...

The gunshot wound may not have come from behind. Maybe he shot himself from inside his mouth. We're gonna need Gil Grissom on this one.
