Crappy motorcycle day today

I got a big promotion this week at work, so I was headed in to an early meeting with my new boss, I park my bike just as he is parking his car, I jump off the bike and we walk into the building together.

(I leave the key in my bike with the ignition in the on position)

Fast FWD to 4:15, I am leaving work and discover my key is missing, only to figure out I killed my battery. I search for someone to jump my bike and finally succeed. I am in a hurry to get to the bank and deposit money before 5:00pm.

As I am lining my bike up to the car to jump it, I DROP MY BIKE in the parking lot, somehow tweak my left leg in the process.

Pick the bike up, jump it, and off I go to the bank. Knowing I don't have time to ride long enough to give the battery a good charge, I shut it down and take my chances and go into the bank. I reemerge and the bike won't even prime the fuel pump when I flip the switch.

I ask people in the parking lot and eventually get a jump start ( Yes # 2 in about an hour).

Time to head home (30 miles) take my first right towards home and my gas light comes on. I have made it 25 miles without running out of gas before so I decide to take my chances with the gas situation. The locking as cap would have forced me to shut the bike down to fuel up.

Exactly 29 1/2 miles later, she gives up the ghost in my neighborhood my bike runs out of gas.

Defeated, sweating and pushing my bike through the neighborhood, I arrive home unscathed, very irritated.

I had a set of Motivation USA frame sliders which saved the bike from any damage during the drop, except for a few minor scrapes on the stator cover. Which I will replace.

At least it involved no significant bike damage or hospital time.

Congrats on the new job!

........pull the cover....have it sand blasted for $5-$10......pick up a can of VHT chassis/roll cage ceramic matte black paint for $8 (advance auto parts has it)....... Should be good to go for as little as $13.

Lol.....I would have gone straight home.
