CBX ??

Found a nice looking CBX..the last year (1982) white one with factory fairing & hard cases. Cosmetically bike is very nice & 100% original. Pipes, seat cover, grips, nanny government & break-in stickers..everything. About 29,xxx miles. Bike has been sitting so needs carbs & brakes gone thru & a battery. Condition of the inside of tank is unknown. No mice got to this one...very clean storage. Guy is second owner but bought it almost new. Nothing wrong with it before he let it sit. Guy wants around $2,500 for it. Good enough of a deal?

There's plenty of work ahead on it but like mcromo said, it's a steal of a price especially for a legend.

Wound up getting the CBX. Figured it was a nice enough bike to take a flyer on. 26,000 ish miles. About as original as they come--grips, seat cover, pipes, stickers & all. Evidently one bag was was replaced so it has a different key & the key for the rest of the bike is a generic blank, shoudl be able to get an Honda blank cut. Some pitting on chrome & corrosion on aluminum but not bad. Inside of tank is CLEAN which after my last project means a lot. Supposedly the PO replaced the fork seals in 05 or 06 ish & bike was driven across the country that recently.. Some electrical gremlin on occasion turning the bars shuts bike off but will fire back up---was told ignition switches on CBXs of the era were usually to blame. Couple dings in the tank, no notable cracks in plastic or fairing. Has tool kit. Throttle & choke still move on the carbs. Should just be finding the elec gremlin, go thru carbs, make sure brakes & air suspension are operational, new battery, etc. Some future winter's project but not this one-other bikes in queue & no hurry on this one.

Nice bike- velly cheeep...if six pot purrs!

Is it me or are the odometer digits wonky? I refuse to buy reading glasses even though I'm 53!

Look forward to seeing you making it roadworthy again- what a glorious sound these make!

Take care of those!
Is there any packing at all, or just baffling?
Any issues with rusting out is certain places?
