Best Bike Shop in Fayetteville NC?????

Can someone please give me the name and number to the best bike shop known in Fayetteville North Carolina?

My son who is in the Army there at Fort Bragg just wrecked his bike and broke his shoulder and is having surgery tomorrow. He needs to get his bike into a shop and I'd rather he not take it to a dealer unless they are very reputable because he will be coming home on medical leave for 30 days and we will really need to trust them.

Thanks a million,

I can't say anything about Fayetteville, but I am only 1.5 hours NW of there and can recommend one in my town. What needs to be done to the bike?

It sounds like just body work. Front fairing and headlight, one side cowl, rear cowl, I think one case cover is just scratched. He highsided it crossing an intersection with a patch of gravel in the middle of it.

The biggest problem is going to be getting there. He's not able to lift anything and will have to get a buddy to haul it for him.

I think you're going to be cheaper to order parts from someone like Ron Ayers rather than having a dealer replace them. Unless the ins. co needs to see dealer parts and labor specifically from one source. Upside to that is Ron Ayers location. They are in Greenville, NC which is about two hours NE of Fayetteville. I'll help out as much as I can. What year and model of bike?

Thanks James I'm not really sure what you can do.

The bike is a 2007 CBR600RR probably has about 1000 miles on it. Kind of sickening huh? You're probably right about the parts from Ron Ayers but I don't know how to know exactly what to order.

What color is it and if you can get me some pics, I'll see what I can do from my end.

It's red, and he's going to go take some pics of it with his phone and send them to me. I don't think he'll get it doen really fast. He's only got one arm and will have to get someone to drive him to it and put their headlights on it.

Thanks,
Jim

Okay here are some pics. Seems to be the front right headlight and cowl, right side cowl, case, and rear cowl. This is what we are thinking. We're thinking about getting the plastics, try to straighten the front cowl stay and headlight, and possably touch up the engine case. Then ride it again.

What do you think?

Forgot the pics, next post.

Well I can't get the pics to upload. They are apparently the wrong type of file and I can't seem to change them. They were taken with his phone and emailed to me I guess they're some kind of odd file.

Well, it seems Ron Ayers hasn't listed the bodywork or OEM parts for the '07 RR. I'll talk to the service guy at the shop tomorrow. I don't think they're backed up right now and if they are he will recommend a reputable shop close to your son.

Okay thanks James. He just had surgery today and will be leaving will be sent home in a couple day, so there won't have to be a rush to get it fixed but maybe only to get it to someone. Look don't go too far out of your way this is not life or death.

I really appreciate your help. I really don't know what else I'd do from here.

Jim

No worries, maybe one day I'll make it out to Houston and you can buy me a beer if everything works out for him.
