Alex's Lemonade Stand

My company, XO Communications, is working to support donations to Alex's Lemonade Stand which is a nationwide fundraising movement to find a cure for childhood cancer.

We've created a website to make it simple and easy for you to make a donation, you can find that website at http://www.firstgiving.com/xocomm

Your donations will be combined with donations from all over the country. Our local office goal is $5000 but I know that number is to low and we can blow it out. No amount is too small or large.

As a token of my appreciation Members who donate will receive a Wrist Twisters Donation Award

You can donate immediately at http://www.firstgiving.com/xocomm

Thank You!
kj

Very good cause. After my recent participation in the Ride for Life, I have been looking for ways to volunteer time or resources for these kids. Thanks for the post.

Once you see the kids, and hear their family's story, it hits home quite hard. No person should have to suffer through any form of cancer, especially children.

First let me thank each of you for your donations. I'm overwhelmed by your generosity and want to show my appreciation (and give an incentive to donate!)

This picture doesn't do this name plaque justice but if you order one you'll receive a custom made plaque made to your specifications in exchange for your donation to Alex's Lemonade Stand.

Allow me to clarify a bit.

Please feel free to donate whatever dollar amount you'd like at http://www.firstgiving.com/xocomm

If you wish to donate $75 or more why not get something nice for your donation also by clicking https://www.wristtwisters.com/catalog...roducts_id=140

Either way you will receive the WT Donation Award

Again, my eternal gratitude.

10-4.... maybe I will look into using them for some of the kids schools efforts... seems like it should be low overhead!

GREAT story - got a call from the Wisc. State Troopers Assoc. the other night looking for a donation... lady was nice and all. Even laughed at my "last ticket wasn't enough of a donation for you folks?" joke....

Anyway I ask the magic question... what % goes directly to the Troopers. Sure enough... she starts with her pre-typed speach on costs to organize, call, process, etc etc... I snap in "WHAT %?"

She says 11%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 11%! If I give $100 - they see $11?

Goodbye!

I think United Way was getting ridiculed a number of years ago after disclosing a mid 80% donation to the specific charities I think!

TTT

Gotta tell you guys I really, really appreciate your generosity. We've raised a respectable chunk of change so far and most of it has been directly from Wrist Twisters members. All the different forums out there, each one thinks they have the best people and I'm sure they're good. But I know where the best people are and I'm damn proud to be among them.

Please, if you haven't yet given a little something to Alex's Lemonade Stand in the fight against childhood cancer, why not take a moment and spare some change. http://www.firstgiving.com/xocomm

Thanks again!
kevin

Bump for a great donation cause.

Quote:
About my charity:
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
In 2000, a 4 year old cancer patient named Alexandra Scott opened a lemonade stand in her front yard with the goal of raising money to find a cure for all kids with cancer. As word of Alex’s fundraising spread, donations poured in from around the world. Alex passed away in August of 2004, at the age of 8 but her legacy lives on through Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.

this stand is closed.

Wanted to take a moment to really express my gratitude for your generosity donating to Alex's Lemonade Stand. Unfortunately we didn't reach our target but I'm very proud to say that of the online donations received the great bulk of the money came from Wrist Twisters members.

Although I was at the racetrack during the physical lemonade stand my reports tell me it was less than stellar. So while the goal wasn't achieved, and the stand performance fell short, Wrist Twisters did not.
You guys & gals blew it out and I'm am so very thankful for you, for our community and knowing we have the best group ever.

You all rock it on the bikes and you rock it with your spirit and you simply flat out rock.

Fundraising Target
$5,000.00
Raised online to date Donations $1,070.00
Raised offline to date $286.00

Total $1356

Just wanted to take a moment to again tell you all how much I appreciate your donations.

While I was away at the track the office held our Stand at "Tampa's Largest Office Party" (which is a tri-annual XO networking event with attendance around 1100) inside the ice hockey arena where the Tampa Bay Lightning play, inside the "XO Club" where we're THE most prominent sponsor.

All told, there were "Chief XX XX" level executives from many of our partner and customer companies in attendance and they raised some $60.00.

Yes, those cheapwad schmucks donated all of about $60.00 and our people were working them.

You, the members of this website dug deeper than anyone else we contacted (and we contacted lots of people) and contributed 73% of the total money raised by XO Tampa. 73%.

I am sincerely in awe of you.

We got the company-wide total results back from corporate today:

Congratulations to September's Alex's Lemonade Stand Winners

XO held its last Community Partnering Day during the month of September, which resulted in $25,205.08 in donations!
Due to the success of the Edison, NJ team's online contributions and stand donations, we are pleased to announce that Team Leader, Gina Rea, along with teammates Tina Horta, Rich Proce, Debby Gruber, Charlie Bruccoleri, Bobby Ferrelli, Phil McKenna, Lisa Gadonniex, Migdalia Ramos, Marie Bishop and Dan Haney have earned the title of "Most Funds Raised” for September stands.
We also would like to congratulate Jacquelin James of Dallas, TX and her team of Christopher Roberts, Brian Spivey, Darrell Roberts, Venessa Minshew, Ryan McDonald, Ann Griffith, Sikina Haynes, Nysahn Williams, Cory Edwards and Cynthia Manuel for being named September's "Most Beautiful Stand."
Due to the enthusiasm, creativity and commitment of XO employees and the generosity of their communities, XO was able to provide the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research a total donation of $44,177.51. Needless to say, the organization is thrilled and thankful. XO truly appreciates everyone's involvement in this year's Community Partnering Days. It has been a true success with tremendous rewards!
