919 Spotted - Santa Clarita, CA round 3:30pm

so...was driving home to pickup my teenage son from his track training and I spotted a 919 (I think it was Candy-Apple red like mine I'm not sure...colorblind here so...)
with nice aftermarket pipes, driver male, wearing a 1/2 white/1/2 red mesh type jacket heading northbound on Bouquet Canyon Road.

I'm wondering if this rider reads this forum and even more so....wondering if we could connect.
I've been looking for folks to ride with in my area. At times, I know, we all have family honey-do's and kids sports events...but just curious if this rider is out there.

thanks,

I've only ever seen two hornets. One was at a gas station and he pulled up to me and said "nice bike" and I realized he had one too. Except his had almost 200k miles and it was an 03. The other one I saw was an 04 with what looked like 1500 miles. (original tires with like no tread missing). Seems these bikes are sorta rare

I know they are...so when you see a 919er on the road, close to you none the less....well, you kinda wanna say "HEY dude, nice bike, lets grab a cup of java and shoot the poop about bikes"....especially when the other person has one JUST like yours.....

This sounds like a missed connections ad from Craigslist. Lol.

This happened to be the first one I read:

"Made eye contact with you on my way in, i was on the phone and running late for class so definitely was rushing lol...but I noticed you. It's a long shot but who knows what could happen hmu if you are interested I'd like to get to know you. Tell me what color leggings you had on so ik its you...(its women like you that make me thank god for leggings lol)"

SOoooo..just to be clear. In no WAY am I makin' this thing out to be any homo thing. Just saw a 919 which it's been the 2nd one I've seen round here in my area and thought, "hey maybe theres someone whom I could converse with regarding motorcycles since we have the same bike in common".

Again....this boy don't swing the other way. Just to be crystal clear.

Nobody thought that. But now that you're getting all defensive about it, I'm not so sure anymore...

Jk lol

I've only had one other bike, but this is a very common thing to happen with a car/bike/truck. One of my cars was very common "back in the day" now, it's a 46 year old car and not seen often. Same thing with my other bike NightHawk 700S and I actually saw one around here.

However, I can say I've never seen a 919 around here before. I'm in Northern California between SF Bay Area and Tahoe... So you'd think there would be a lot of weekend "let's hit the Sierra for some canyon carving" or just a nice run down 49 in Placer. Yet after a few years, I still haven't see a single 919.

Kinda cool to be different, don't know if I'd want to be "one of the many" over "one of the few".

Agreed.....it's nice to have a bike that not only is an awesome machine but....it's unique to some degree.
I hear great things bout it's smaller sibbling, the 599. When I spot a good one that comes along...well, I'll leave it at that.

You are really stuck to the straight thing..... Wasn't implying anything more than a joke. Just giving you a hard time (no pun intended). Sarcasm translates better without a keyboard. That said, if anyone of us 9ers swung for the Sox (Cubs fan), more power to them. They're 9ers. No judgement. All love.

Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.
