919 GONE????

Cycle World announced on their website today, 10-25-07, http://www.cycleworld.com/article.as...article_id=507
that Honda has dropped the 919!?!?!?!

Can it be?

Is there a 1300 Hornet headed our way?

Looks like a giant step backwards to me... no thanks Honda! I don't mind a little infusion, but don't just duplicate what you've done 25 years ago.

I think that CB750 looks alot better than the CB1100F, if you ask me.

How true are the rumours of a 1000cc Hornet? They already have the CB1000F in Europe!

Cheers,
Pete

In the recent-but-always-late Cycle News, whereby all models of all manufacturers were listed, not one naked Honda was listed for 2008... no 599, no 919, no 1000.... Europe and Asia get them! US does not!

It's enough to drive one over to the Triumph dealership (as long as you daily check the oil!)

If honda doesn't want to sell me what I want, I'd say screw em. Triumph, Yamaha, Aprillia, Kawie, they all make good stuff.

I'm going to let that 675 be in production for a couple more years....

Yeah, that 1100 is a bit TOO retro for me. I like retro but that is a little far back for me. That Japan CB750 DOES look nice though. In 1998 when I was ready to give up my 1982 Nighthawk CB750SC I was really disappointed that Honda stopped making the CB1000 and the CB1300 was not available in the U.S. so I went with the Triumph Trident 900. That was my favorite choice for a naked bike and I loved it! As luck would have it that was the last year they made that. Then last August when I wrecked it I got the 919 now I find out 2007 was the last year for that! Talk about getting in on the tail end!

Saw it in a magazine the other day. Can't wait for the bike show to see it for real. Looks interesting.

The bike show in Chicago is close at hand, who's going?

I plan to die young, as late as possible.

Umm... I might be a bit slow, but I thought that Honda was replacing it with this: CB1000R

I talked to my dealer here in Canada, and he said they should be hitting showrooms in March-ish.

KTM, you talking the Super Duke?

We aren't getting the CB1000R but the CBF1000.
And from what my local dealer was saying only the bigger Honda dealers in Canada are getting it so when it does come in I'll have to drive down to Edmonton to see it!

Ahhh. so I am a bit slow. My bad. Saw that at the Edmonton Bike show... a little "old man" -ish for me. That is really too bad, I'm glad I picked up my 919 when I did. Thanks for the heads up.

If you guys get that please buy one, ride it down here, and leave the bike with me.
