Well we finally got a ride in this year just after the summer solstice. Three riders met at the Clinton Station Diner and then refueled for an assault on the best roads in the Tri-State area. Our first order of business was to wring out cobwebs and get our groove back on the WCW suspension circuit in Port Murray and Karrsville. Then over to Belvidere, across the Delaware River and onto the River Road Carousel connecting us to Pa 611.
One of my favorite places is the area around Lake Minsi(this avoids the congestion in Bangor) where you can pick up some very slick twisties with little traffic and police presence. From there, we crossed the Appalachian Trail on PA 191 and down into Stroudsburg. Pa 447 through the lower Poconos delivered the troops to Pa 390 and Promised Land State Park. A minor fuel stop at the Interstate 84 intersection and then on to Tafton for some homemade pie and a cool beverage.
Refreshed, we headed for the town of Hawley on US 6 and the thrill of Pa 590 heading east. The Roebling Bridge allowed us to cross the Delaware River again and land on NY 97. Due to some errant pokeys and confused motorists, there was no reason to stop at the Hawks Nest, so we continued down into Port Jervis and back into the Garden State on CR 521. A quick detour through Layton, back on CR 521, some connectors to the center of Hope for a jaunt down CR 519.
The three amigos were getting hungry so we stopped at the new Skoogy's Sports Bar down on the strip. Apple BBQ Pulled Pork, Shrimp Scampi, and a Burger filled up the trio for the ride home. Gas was the first order of business, so I left the pair in search of the next filling station down the line. I made a spirited run up through the Glen and back over the Mountain to my nest.
It's been way too long since we had gotten together for a ride, so we resolved to meet again in another 5-6 weeks. Please stay tuned for more information in:
Thank for coming out guys.
