Spain - East Coast Trip

Not so much of a journal, but I thought I'd share some pics.

And we're off:

Everything we had on the bike:

Thanks to this guy for leading me to the correct freeway leaving Valencia:

I went 101 miles in 60 minutes on the Autopista, yes miles not kilometers.
Promptly ran out of gas not long after, lol.

Spent six days on bike up and down East coast of Spain.
Enjoyed a long 3 days on foot in Barcelona.
Flew off to Milan to then join a friend in Lugano, Switzerland for a few days.
Flew out of Zurich, but not before seeing crusty old Bob Dylan concert there.
Good times!

Looks like fun I love Spain. I can't wait to go back myself. I would love to see a GP there.

The only thing I can say to you guys saying "someday" is that there is no someday.

The time to do what you want to do is NOW.

I went on an absolute whim...learned a lot, and will go back soon.

Tuono --

Funny you mention the gp, as the valencia GP was going on when I was there and it's like every sportbike in Spain was headed south on the N-340 to attend. I'm not big into racing so I opted for more leisure, but there is really nothing like splitting TWO WAY traffic with these sport riders between cars and semis, whew...scarry stuff, but the cars traveling south with you actually pull over just enough to let you around, even with oncoming traffic they let you right thru...WILD!

So, what kind of bike was that anyway? I recognized the Givi case, but that was about it.

Honda Deauville.

Kind of like a mini Honda ST you could say, powered by a 650 twin, same as the old Honda Hawk. It was somewhat underpowered for two people with luggage, but I managed.

Pretty popular bike over there I gather, as with most smaller engined bikes.

One of the more interesting bikes I saw over there was a Suzuki DR-800 "Big Bore"...yeah...an 800cc thumper!!

You were not kidding about the amount of bikes heading to the race. I have never seen so many bikes in one place ever. It was a madhouse for bikes, cars and foot traffic. I did get to see Nicky take the world title though, so it was worth it. Also the weather there was perfect. Sunny and about 80 degrees give or take, better than the 38 degrees I am living with now.

Good trip you took there. Hopefully when I am done touring the USA I will be able to do some European trips as well.
