Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway and Deals Gap

This year myself and 2 friends rode Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway and many great roads in the Deals Gap area. Rather than a ride report, I put together a few articles on the roads, in an effort to help others decide weather or not to visit the area (highly recomended BTW). Check them out below:

Skyline Drive: Ride the Sky: A Motorcycle Ride on Skyline Drive
Blue Ridge Parkway: America's Favorite Ride: Motorcycle Touring on the Blue Ridge Parkway
Tail of the Dragon: http://motoroads.hubpages.com/hub/S...cycle-Riding-on-the-Tail-of-the-Dragon-US-129
Cherohala Skyway: Mile High Riding: Motorcycling on the Cherohala Skyway

Thanks for sharing. I was just down there for vacation. The wife really wanted to ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway but we ran out of time. We did get some great riding otherwise.

Thanks for reading! The BRP was a great ride. Very long though, I could have used more time on there to really take it all in. I missed a section due to construction, which is apparently very common.

That whole area in the states is just amazing for on-road riding.

I agree. I would love to live around there. It was my second time in the area. I can't wait to go back!

The group I ride with yearly stays at the base of the Cherohala, we tried the devils triangle this year. It was a nice ride, but holy calamity trying to get back through rush hour when only 1/2 a person knew the directions (that's a nice way of saying the 2 'leaders' half-assed it.)

I was cramped up by the time we got there, so took it easy as 250rr wasn't the best choice for a long ride. Way in the back of the pack I start picking up the pace, only to realize I couldn't see a killer drop off that was hidden by a little rise in the road. Fortunately I kept my wits about me and made the left right left without issue...but chilled right back out to my snails pace I was carrying before.
