First of all, thank you xrmikey for all the help, guidance, and coming to ride
; and sugs for coming out to breakfast
. Wish you were able to ride with us. The weather was great. It started at nice and cool this morning. Heated up a little bit around lunch time, but not too bad. The roads to the mountain were a nice warm up.
The first run up was nice and slow (it was slower for me first time up here
). Just had a blast checking out the road condition and getting a feel for it. We made the loop (up S Grade Rd, down E Grade Rd, and back on 76) once. Then made another run up S Grade Rd. Which is where I hiccuped.
How does that saying go...a good landing is one you can walk away from, and a great landing is one in which you can use the plane again? Mine was extremely close to great, if not, right on it only to the left a little. I low sided to the left, gently somehow.
All the damage is aesthetic. Finished that run up, we stopped to take a breather and get some water. Which is were I was finally able to take a few pics.
Which is where we layed eyes upon a bike worth drooling over (well another one besides a 919). That is xrmikey (on the left) talking with the Duc owner (on the right).
After the break, we made a final run down, and then left for home. All in all it was a great day, a great ride, and a great experience.
Can't wait to go again. Hopefully with a few more 9ers from the hive
, and other SoCal riders.
