490 ain't bad, but it's a good start! My personal best in one day was like 680 and 2500 in a 5 day sprint (including one track day). That's a lot of seat time!

Drove that road many years ago. Camped at Pismo Beach. Never seen sand dunes like that before, except in the movies.

Have a great journey!

700 miles as of today! Started out taking the Richmond Bridge across to the one north, I can't say enough how beautiful the area was, im sure you guys get that by now.

ForumRunner_20140626_013437.jpg

We hopped onto the 1 north and took it to Stinson Beach. More coastal driving, and the absolute BEST paved roads ive seen ( I was hoonin all the way through!)
Stopped into Tomales for lunch and turned back.

ForumRunner_20140626_013404.jpg

The was back was shitty, it consisted of 20 mi. an hour due to such dense fog that windscreen on my helmet was useless, and very slippery pavement.

From there we ( my good friend im staying with) went into the city via golden gate bridge, and even though there was enough fog that I couldnt see what I was passing, the bridge itself was huge!

Once in the city I got separated from my buddy and kinda went awol; ditched him and cruised around for a half hour experiencing the most extreme hills ive seen. I came off the top of one a liiiiitle to hot and cought some air, although very fun I smashed mah boys cus I was too close to the tank.

It ended with some goood ass clam showda at the fishermans wharf

ForumRunner_20140626_013515.jpg

Tomorrow im hoping to fo see some redwoods, stay tuuuned!

You are driving 1/4 mile from my front door once you pass through Goleta.

Nice ride, btw. Done it a few times myself except from Goleta/Santa Barbara.

And what would be a trip without some bad luck? Got a nice gash in my rear from god knows what, I was able to plug it (TWHS) until I got home, hopefully I can repair it. Its only 3 months old

I see you discovered the "law of new tires". All first brand new tires will pick up a nail or other foreign object. All second brand new tires will be fine.

2012 Yamaha Super Tenere
2001 Honda Blackbird
2007 Honda 919

49/50 visited on two wheels. 1 more to go!

I would call this shitty luck! Here's why:

My last update for this trip, total mileage was 1,340 in five days and I could've done more! My last day consisted of relaxing and going on a Friday night ride with B A.R.F. Members starting in the city.

This would make the first big group ride ive ever been on, about 30 bikes.

ForumRunner_20140630_101602.jpg
It was pretty damn fun and we ended up on treasure island where my friend and I decided to split from the group and head back to oakland.. this is where the disaster struck, with a nice gash.

Fast forward to the following day where ive taken my tire to get it repaired. And have been told that its out of spec ( I called bull shit, they disagreed) and needed to replace it. So a nice chunk of money later and a new tire and on my way I was.

Until about 150mi later. A freakin industrial staple entered my new tire.
Although I was abke to ride it home with losing only 1lb of pressure, ill be taking it to be repaired today

All in all that was the most tiring and rewarding trip ive ever taken. I look forward to doing this many times. And the 919 doesn't make a bad touring machine
