You all missed a great outing despite how ugly it may have appeared in the morning. The wind was blowing hard from the previous evening, but it dried everything up from the rain the day before. Three riders braved the elements to enjoy some Fall Foliage and get some saddle time in before the snow flies. We met at the Clinton Station Diner for breakfast and took off from the Pilot a little after 10:00 am to warm up the rubber.
Our newest member had not been out to our playground before and was game for anything we chose regarding routes. We consumed a lot of twisties en-route to the "Carousel" over on River Road in the Keystone State. We returned to the Garden State via the Portland Bridge and made our way up through Warren & Sussex. We had quite a few cagers pull over to let us pass during the day and only one pokey with Georgia plates that we had to dispatch with a twist of wrist.
We enjoyed a spirited run on some back roads to avoid the Rt 206 boredom and arrived at the Hainesville General Store for coffee & cake. From there, we headed over to Port Jervis and enjoyed the scenery at the Hawk's Nest overlooking the Delaware River. There seemed to be plenty of good color left to enjoy. A return to Jersey brought an assault on the sweepers up through High Point State Park and then down to CR 519. Seeing there was very little traffic, the trio "aired it out" at every opportunity with a prudent margin of safety.
Pub 517 was our ultimate destination for dunch that day. Baby back ribs and shrimp scampi fed the furnace for the return trip back to Interstate 78 with a fuel stop along the way. As is our custom, all checked in after arriving at our respective nests.
Thanks to deandeib for joining in and welcome to nathanktm who traveled from Long Island to participate with us "seniors"
