Dempster Trip Advice

Hi everyone. I am heading up the Dempster in June with a friend, looking forward to it!

We are leaving from Edmonton, AB and have the basic plans made for the trip there - Edmonton to Dawson, BC - Dawson to Fort Nelson, Fort Nelson to Watson Lake, YT - Watson to Whitehorse - Whitehorse to Dawson, YT - and Dawson City to Arctic Circle area (time depending, maybe NWT).

The trip home however is up in the Air. I dont want to do the exact same roads, but know that the options are limited. I am looking for someone that has ridden the area for advice on an alternate route home.

Much appreciated!

You're riding up there?
Me and the girlfriend drove up to Alaska a few
summers back in our suv and really enjoyed it.
On the 919 you might have a hard time making
it from one gas stop to the next.
The last part of hwy in the Yukon on your way towards
Alaska is very bumpy, you will have to take your
time. Scenery is the nicest I ever seen. Daylight
almost 24hrs in the middle of summer.
Make sure you stop by when you get to Edmonton.
If I could take time off I would really like to go too.
I'm sure Rickard would come as well.

I sold my 9er, I have a 99 bmw f650 for the trip. We are leaving on the 15th and wanting to get to the arctic circle on the 21st (summer solstice). As well, the day we get to Dawson City, it will be Dust to Dawson - a gathering of motorcycles from all around North America.

If you are able to swing the time off, or just want to do part of the trip to BC or something, let me know

I seen a ton of BMW GS while driving up there.
One guy was from Russia, was shipping his bike
back on a boat after he got to Alaska.
Lots of them guys were carrying gerry-cans and
spare tires on the back of their bikes.
Should be an awesome ride.
