Ride safe and have a blast! My wife and I did the Dragon when we spent a week down that way on the Blueridge Parkway. My ride post is here. Enjoy - it's a fun time.

Wow! I just looked at Ken's trip report. Looks like you're off for a great trip. And weather couldn't be better! Seeing trips like this is why I decided to get my license!

wow, what a great trip!
we left on monday at 6am but didn't make it all the way down in one day.there was a accident outside baltimore at 9am so that killed 45 mins then they were paving rt 40 west of asheville,nc at 8 pm, so we stayed at a days inn monday night.
dad and i got up tuesday morning and proceeded to robbinsville,nc about half way there we hit another detour that sent us over the blue ridge parkway, i have to tell you, that is my kind of detour
we then proceeded thur cherokee,nc at 10 mph and thur maggie valley which was a beautiful town then on to the two wheel inn at robbinsville,nc arriving at 2 pm.
wednesday we got up had breakfast at "our daily bread" in robbinsville. then up thru the hellbender(nc28) to us129(dragon) to rt 72,411,360 then the cherohola skyway back to us 129 and to the hotel racking up 155 miles.
after freshing up off to dinner at "lynn's place" the the inn to relax.

Thursday morning, pack up the bikes, breakfast at our bread again (it was good) and set off home but via the dragon to 411 to knoxville then home.

so, we rode the dragon and 710 miles home in one day with a stock 919 seat.

saw alot of beautiful scenery had a great time, got rained on a little on the way home, great vacation with my dad

Sounds like a great trip and the weather looked awesome. Great times with your Dad are priceless.
