Blitz on mobile phones

West Australian motorcycle cops are targeting mobile phone users.
They have helmet camera's & two way coms back to a support vehicle.
They prosecuted 90 odd douche bags on Easter weekend.
I had a cop on a FZ800 (I think)check me out while I was in the car today.
Any thoughts? I reckon it's a great proactive initiative which could save lives, especially bikers!

It's happening over here too. In some towns, the police are disguising themselves as construction workers and radioing the support vehicles ahead.

Still they don't give tickets when people don't use their blinkers.

I think it's great. Finally Law enforcement being proactive and focusing on a problem that can save lives. Rather then what I usually see around here, Tickets being issued for someone have a glass of wine or a toke during a picnic on the beach.

I'd love to see them start nailing folks that cut the corners off on winding roads. It's a plague where I live, and we've already had two riders killed this year on my road because of it. Sad part is, if the averages hold true, there will be a handful more by the end of summer on this road alone.

Sloppy driving is a disease in today's society.

it is sad how human beings create our own problems and than actively trying to fight them (with little success). Yes, I hate cell phones and yes, I got two of them.

"Agreed" All good points, and it's great to feel the passion.
Returned from our forest block in Denmark WA on Tuesday.
Had to take a ute or pickup for you US lads. Glad I did. Lot's
of wombats towings caravans who regularly crossed the apex.
Even sedans or 4wd did the same. Awesome stretch of twisty black
top through a National Park.
Watch your lines on corner entry & don't run wide!

I agree. It's funny to watch people and their phone addictions.
