What's up with GoogleEarth?

How come the images of VIR are much clearer than the images of Summit Point?

I've always assumed that only in highly populated areas that they do the higher quality pictures on google but that doesn't make any sense when you think about VIR not like Danville is all that big either....

here is a pic of Summit Point that I found if you haven't seen it all ready

I like Virtual Earth much more better, the "Birds Eye View" is alot more clear than anything on Google.

Disagree. In a recent poll of 645 potential terrorists, 78% preferred the clarity of Google.

Google's collection of satelite and air photos have different resolutions from area to area depending on the availability of those images. I remember when they first launched the predecessor to GE, whos name I cant remember, and I thought it was amazing that the whole country was in 15ft resolution! lol

Whats even crazier to me is the street view of Google maps. They are taking 360 degree pictures every 25-50 feet or so of road and I was surprised by how much coverage they have here in SoCal. I used it when I rode to G&J to pick up my brake lines so I knew in advance what the building looked like. Nuts.

Google is going to rule the Earth one day.
