Went on a ride yesterday.

Well guys yesterday was BEAUTIFUL here in so cal... a good 80-85*F out... which kinda bumbed me out in one sense, as the snow season this year has been quite crappy... but hey least im not like you poor saps who dont get to ride this time of year

Heres the route.
Santa Rosa Rd to Santa Rosa Rd - Google Maps

it was about 105-110mi total as i played around on the section of mulholland known as the snake, did a coupla passes.

The goal of the day was to make it to the road known as tuna canyon. A very off the beaten path canyon road thats one lane and oneway, that allows the local moutian living residents a path down to the pch. The reason i wanted to go so bad was the fact that about oh a month and a half ago, me and a buddy showed up to it being freshly paved, we are talking still wet pavement (talk about a scetchy ride down), so at this point a month and a half later i figured they would be done and the road would be sweet!

On my way there i stopped at the top of stunt road for some photo ops.

The View

The beast (with its areodynamic drag reducing left side gas tank indent, from the previous owner)

So after stunt road i made my way to tuna.... but was sorely disapointed when i showed up to the gates closed and locked and signs saying it was closed.... i sat there for 5 min or so going gawd damnit!!!

I kept eyeballing a 2 foot wide hole in the fence on the far left side... it would take a lil dirbike manuvering in the form of a wall ride to get around... i figured id traveled this far... may as well try... sure enough first try got right on by

Unfortunatly the road was still quite scetchy... due to the fact its been closed so no car traffic to clean the road off... so lots of dirt and debris but hey it was still fun as hell! This is probably the widest part of the road. A sharp downhill hairpin thats only widened for turing purposes... most of the road is less than 10ft wide.

And lastly heres a neat pic i took while sitting at the top of tuna figuring what i should do.

And dont worry people of cold parts of the US.... yesterday was 85 and sunny... today is 50 and almost raining out YEAH... cmon snow i need ya i want some snow so bad in the local mtns!

Been to the Left Coast by motorcycle 5 times. The problem is that the landscape was always brown, dry, and ugly. Nice to see some greenery for a change.

Carry on,

Lawls, i gotta make up for our high gas prices somehow haha.

The road was closed, but i was able to get around the fence n go down it.

I think me and a buddy r gonna go up again in the next coupla weeks or so while its still closed so we can run up it... cus uphill is just SO MUCH MORE FUN then being on the breaks constantly.

Serious envy on the roads and weather! I was in your area early November for a Sounders/Galaxy match and took a rental through mulholland from PCH to 101. Definitely a nice playground indeed.
