We grow 'em big in GA

Check out this Hornet!

Found him trapped in the window sill at my dad's. Good thing he was already dead. Looks like he died fighting, his stinger still stickin' out!

Does anyone know what type of hornet this is? We have them for the first time.this year, I've killed four so far. They make a white.faced.hornet look like a honey bee in size comparison...

LOL! I'm just curious, I want to know where to look for the nest so I can kill all of 'em... I'd hate to get stung by one of those things....

Saw one of these suckers in Brazil once. I HEARD it, actually, before I saw it. From like 30 yards away. Sounded like a mini-chainsaw.

Oh, it eats tarantulas.

Is that a stinger hanging out there!? Looks like that thing could bring the pain, just as much if not more than the giant hornet.

Holy fuck....

This thread brings shivers to my spine. I once got stung by a hornet behind the ear when I was a kid. Couldn't hear a damn thing for nearly 2 weeks. Felt like I got punched.

(bring on the deaf jokes lol)

I've had some of the these in my shop just this week. First I've ever seen them. I hope there isn't a nest nearby.

I know the feeling. I got stung in my Achilles tendon and I described it as a hot needle being slowly inserted all the way to the bone. Man! I can still feel that pain.
