brutal video btw. something like that happened to me out west in '06, only difference was that I had my cb650 and couldn't outrun the guy. Definitely the most terrifying moment ever.

The only thing missing was the truck driver pulling out a gun and blasting away and killing the riders at the stop sign intersection where they challenged him.
Madness all round.
I can see it now, rider on cell phone in front of his own bike camera getting wasted by truck driver - too busy talking instead of thinking about "what will he do next?" and getting out there alive with the evidence.

Was thinking the same thing. I wonder if there were other people around that gave them that level of comfort to stick around.

I don't think so.
Reminds me of a biz trip to South Carolina in the 90s.
We drove by a guy running down the sidewalk with a handgun who was chasing a guy.
I was the passenger.
The driver exclaimed "did you see that ! ? "
The next comment was, "let's get a better look ! "
So we turned around and went back to get a better, slower and closer look !!!!
MADNESS!
I dropped down into the passenger footwell and started praying.
No shots were fired.

Doesn't seem to work in Firefox. IE got it for me though.

My friggin hands are shaking as I type. I want beat that cocksucker unconscious with a helmet. I was JUST talking to a co-worker today about the little teenage prick that did run a biker off the road last week. Now this. No better reason in the world to pack a little heat on a ride. Drunk prick gets out of the truck with a club. Unreal

When you ride like an idiot, it's only a matter of time until you come across a bigger drunk idiot.

I hope the guy was a least arrested (I doubt it) and maybe the rider learned a little something too.

Heck if I was outside of that church(I think it was a church) I would have been screaming at him to slow down.

This could have easily been about a motorcyclist hitting a two year old going to Sunday school.

WTF was that , lucky the chase motorcycle had that camera. If the cop who arrived on scene isn't stupid, truck guy's getting taken in even if the motorcycle passed illegally.

What a firiggin A-hole. He had the nerve to try and say the bikers where in the wrong and he was right?!?!?! How the hell is nearly killing someone being in the right? Notice how once the rider told him he was cought on film he stoped yelling as much and then when he knew the rider was talking to the cops he tried to call the cops him self. And I'm sorry but I know you almost just got ran off the road but dont be a douche and let your friend do all the talking stick up for your own life, instead of protecting your bike.

On I side not when I was watching this video I thinking to myself "Wow people from Ontario, Canada sound like there from Alabama"

ive ran into my fair share of those drivers... truck, car, semi and motorcyclists alike actually.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

  • Take 1 guy in a truck who obviously has some bad feeling towards sports bikes before this started.
  • Add the rider passing him on a double solid line.
  • Plus Truck guy is from there and the riders hauling ass on on his road on their "crotch rockets" probably are from out of "town".
  • Put it all together and you a crappy situation where a lot of people could have gotten hurt or killed.

Truck guy was wrong for trying to run the rider off the road and should go to jail for what he did but the lead rider wasn't golden in his actions either.

Well said Patrick. Take two squids in leathers passing on a double yellow combined with a redneck, complete with wife beater and 4-wheeler, and you have a volatile mix of genes from near the bottom of the pool.

You're both missing the fact that he was tanked (apparently) and that he almost killed more than just the lead rider....

I believe I found an update from the actual biker that was nearly run off the road. I'm not going to post a link but it is local to the area and appears to be legit.

According to the posts, the driver left the scene before the police showed up. The motorcyclists waited around a while after the truck left and the police still had not shown up so they left as well.

The video was not immediately turned over to the authorities because the bikers felt they would be hassled over the illegal pass and high speeds.

They eventually decided to turn over the video over, the police are not even concerned about the pass after seeing the rest of the video, and they are pursuing whatever they can do.

Not much more detail than that.

I don't condone passing on a double yellow, but when he passed the truck you could clearly see a LONG way. Looked like a clean pass to me. I know you can argue the fact that it is still illegal, but so is speeding, racing away from a stop light (even if you don't squeal the tires or break the speed limit), etc...

I'm not missing anything and I have broken the law too. The illegal pass is a minor issue in the big picture of this incident. I'd love to see that Deliverance descendent get his ass nailed for attempted murder. The squid should still have used better judgement. Approaching a cager from his six can sometimes startle. He hears loud pipes and then a bike that seemingly appears out of nowhere in his mirror. The reaction can be dangerous even without malice. Take a mean spirited redneck with an already questionable cognitive ability, potentially combined with Jim Beam, and you have a recipe for disaster. The rider didn't know that, but it wasn't a Honda Accord he approached and flew by. Evaluation of the other vehicle is part of the risk analysis.

It's a no-win situation in court.

Reaction of juror #1: Oh my God! That driver tried to kill the biker!
Reaction of juror #2: Those damn boys were riding crazy on them there crotch rockets and our local man was right to try to cut em off. He was just trying to get them to slow down and ride safe.
Juror #3: etc

i disagree with you on that point. if you look closely you'll see that he challenges 2 bikes head on in THEIR lane before yielding last minute. this dude is a danger to the public, put his ass in jail

Guy was a straight prick just like the 16 year old in CT. Only difference in that the 16 year old actually hit the MC and never tried to lie about why he did it. This guy folded like the bitch he is when he found out that they filmed him and were on the phone with the cops. He left because he thought the cops were coming to bad they didn't get there in time seems like they were pretty far out in the country but it looks like the road was well used by other MCs.

Anyone notice all the cars parked at the church at around 3:05? Was this guy tanked and out driving on a Sunday morning? (no offense to people who drink early on a Sunday!)

Some folks in Kentucky will be at church other days than a Sunday.

Some other folks out there will be drunk driving any day of the week.
