Trip up to Mt high, so cal!

so yesterday me and my buddy set out to go to the top of mt high. If you dont know so cal, Mt high is one of the predominate local to LA ski resorts, i personally always get a season pass and ski probably a good 20-30 days there a season, needless to say its super fun with snow on it.

W Los Angeles Ave to CA-23 S - Google Maps

Well yesterday my buddy and i went up the 2 (an amazing road, great pavement, nice sweeping turns n great scenery) and hit the little rinky dink road, then mobbed some of the ski trails to get to the top of the mt high west!... heres the pics!

Stopped on the service road, middle of a run that leads to some of my favorite shutes... they actually look alot steeper without snow on em!

And across the valley... you can see the top of the main lift thats pictured in the next picture.

At the top.... so weird without snow!!!

Looking out over the reservoir at the top (180* from the previous picture)... on a clear day you can see the ocean and islands... its pretty cool to be skiing in that!

And another pic from the top

mobbin the ski trails... the 919 does pretty good off road... so long as you take it slow

some section of the dirt road that gets to the top of the mtn

somewhere along the 2

Nice ride and pics. Thanks for sharing.

I've mountain biked around some of our ski hills and you're right. They look a lot more steep without snow!

like i can ski the entire mountian without thinking.... tbh the stuff at mt high west or even east with its double black diamond face isnt steep... i dont have any problems at all... but i looked at some of the single black runs as im riding by and go... damn, that would actually be one hell of a hill climb on my dirbike!!!

Nice ride! Its very near Mt. Baldy and GMR that a few buddies and myself went up a few weeks ago! It's a very nice and twisty road but unfortunately my friend (who was riding a HD) went down near the end of Glendora Mountain Road from a rock that got his rear tire..
He's fine now but he had a 1/2 helmet on and his teeth went through his top lip. He also stretched some ligaments in his shoulder and foot. Thank the Man upstairs it wasn't worse!

And here is my friend after we got the bike off him and stood it up...

Yeah GMR is a lot of fun yet very "ballzy" at the same time, especially for me since I only have 6ish months experience on 2 wheels... Ive done around 4K miles in those 6 mounts but still taking it easy up there.
