Traded the Land Rover for this!

New 2009 Subaru Legacy

The Land Rover was a good truck but after having the first Legacy for about 8 months now I decided to make the jump into one also. I love this car, the only difference between the two legacy's we have are the color and mine is a manual tranny!

Nice! That'll scoot with the manual, and it's unstoppable come winter time.

Its the premium package with the 2.5 motor. It gets out pretty good, but nothing like the legacy 3.6R I tested. I just couldn't bring myself to spend 36K when I bought this one for 18K brand new! just didn't make good sense?

I love that color Ripster! My wife is getting ready to trade her car but my kids are so darn stretchy we don't fit in any of the Subaru's. I wanted a Tribeca but there is just not enough room in the back seat. I sure love the lines of that one though..and it's a Hoosier! Whoooohoooo!

Legacys & Outbacks roll off the same assembly line that makes Toyota Camrys in the USA. Imprezas are built in Japan yet.

Yup, I never knew they assembled the Toyota till I was doing some homework on the Tundra. Stumbled upon that info by accident actually.

Now... I think in a couple years I will be letting the wifes car go for a Tundra (Indiana built also).

We bought a 2009 Legacy last March. Our 4th Subie (first sedan). It's my wife's car and she absolutely loves it. Plus it's the same color as my '06 9er! Can't beat them for up here!

Nice car. Now you can spend more time driving and less time waiting for parts to fix the Rover.

You can also tell by the VIN, Japanese cars start with "J", USA cars start with "1" or "4".

Rover never broke down on me... but just last week the three amigos popped up and the Left Rear door decided not to open any more. I looked into fixing the 3Amigos thing and the door but it was more than I could justify and I needed to put new tires on it. So it was either put 3K into fixing it and tires or just move on!

Your know the worst thing about buying a new Subaru? Trying convince everyone you're not gay.

LOL!!! Ok, that struck me as hilarious having worked ten years at a Subaru dealership. Actually we saw mostly lesbians with dogs, not so much guys unless they played for the symphony, Outbacks work great for toting cellos. Also attracted school teachers, accountants, engineers and other button down personality types, quite a few of the granola socks and sandals crowd as well.

Having met Ripper I'll say that he doesn't fit any of the above stereotypes!

It is a bit of a Liberals car.... maybe I'm being converted and don't know it?

In all seriousness though, after driving my wifes legacy a lot lately, I've found that it is just as fun every time you turn the key and hear that boxer motors low rumble. Because you know the driving comes next!

Ripper, Stick around we'll help get you more liberal... You wouldn't refuse a ride to a woman with a dog would you? See - we have established you are not a totoal homophobe. That is a good first step. Now if you see a guy with a cello walking in the rain - Do you offer him a ride? Come on now... you can do this.
Nice car - enjoy

I keep threatening my wife of putting an NRA sticker on her Sube, she is anti-sticker, period (although I snuck one on her old Bravada).
Ripper, can't agree with you more, after driving my Explorer Sport day in and out, the Legacy is like a race car!

The turbos are cool, but for the added price and MPG reduction, plus more sheit to go wrong, I can't see it.
