pics of the 85 runner!

u have the 22R still in that? always wanted to grab an 85 yota pickup which i think had the 22re in it. throw some 31-33in tires, at least a rear locker and some armor and have a nice mild wheeling machine.

22re came standard in the '85, also the last year of the solid front axle. Viaair onboard air kit, Kleinn 220 trumpets, Aussie Lockers front and rear, front axle moved 2" forward, FJ steering conversion, bud built skid, sliders, marlin crawler front and rear bumpers (kill count: Jetta-0 4Runner-1)
Now that the weather is getting cooler hopefully I can start wrenching on it again, been too damn hot to do a HG and timing set.. oh yeah, next comes the 4:7 xfer case gears and 5.29 3rd members....
I highly recommend if you come across an '85 to grab it up regardless of the condition. solid front axle yotas are getting really hard to come by. I picked mine up bone stock for 1700$ 0 RUST. I've since sunk about 4 times what I paid into it. She'll be with me for life, just like the 9er.

Damn, very nice find on the 4runner. I've searched high and low (back in the day when I had money lol) and they don't go for cheap here in the northwet to say in the least. The ones that are less than 4k are usually all beat to hell and in need of moderate to serious repairs.

I vow to find one someday.... Either that or convert a 2000-2007 xterra to solid axle.

'85 dont sell for cheap in these parts either. Neither do their 4x4/Taco/Heilux counterparts.
