re: last post.

Can that be sucked/hammered out and then filled with relative ease?

Anything can be fixed. I would think getting a new tank would be cheaper and easier. Soryy to see of you mis-fortune.

I'm just bummed that this could have been easily avoided if I wasn't trying to turn around so hard. had I just coasted to a parking stall, my bike would be fine, and I would otherwise be having a great day...

Was it 3dcycle who was repairing tanks and then selling them?

I have a good booth to spray in -and experience to go with it, all I need is a helping hand to show me how to smooth that damn dent.

Question would sliders have prevented this or not?

I'm thinking the $80 for sliders would now save me the cost of paint and labor, or a new tank (~$600 here)

Parking lot tip-over? Yes. Givi cage saved me scratches on the tank, but I got the tiniest bit of rash on the tail. Just under the 919/hornet decal. That's easier to fix than the tank though.

We've all done it man, if you're keeping the bike for a bit just leave it you may do it again (not tryin to curse ya just speaking from experience). Plus fresh paint is like a magnet to asphalt everyone knows that.

I decided this year I'm going to keep it for a long time. That being said, I've owned it off the showroom floor since 2007 and I like a shiny bike. I still can't get over how dumb I was this a.m.

Also, I need a signal lens or new signals if they're cheap enough..

If you need signals let me know. I've got front and rear sets they just don't have the wiring connectors.

Look at getting a "Bagster" tank bag solution
or a tank bra
Or those "tank grips" everyone is ordering.

I know beggars can't be choosers, but does anyone have a set of '07+ RR signals that they'd part with? They're still incandescent -so no need for resistors, and they have a nice profile... If not, I'd gratefully accept the offer of either firedave or Pvstr..

Thanks all, you're an amazing bunch of people!

As for tank, since it's not leaking, I'm going to keep it as is right now, order another one when I get more $$$, then look at fixing and painting the old one.
