Kid was a lot nicer than I would have been. I can't imagine what I would be saying to that cop. He shouldn't be allowed to carry anymore.

AAAHHHHH. Excess. The spice of life.

doood.... that sucks... That's one of those things that I don't know how to feel about.... Like obviously he shouldn't have shot the guy, but I can see that as being an accident... guns aren't anything to mess around with and trigger discipline is crucial so maybe accident is a little too loose of a word, but it sure didn't seem like an "on purpose"... the question is, should a gun even be drawn at this point? even if he runs again I don't think it would justify shooting him, so the only reason it would make sense to have a gun drawn was if you thought that he may have a gun and try to draw on you, which is a legitimate concern as an officer... It's one of those things where I don't really know how to feel about it... other than I know it sucks, and they both got lucky that the cop wasn't a very good shot.

I completey agree with you.

Two things surprised me about the video
1) How calm this individual was who got shot
2) How apologetic the officer was

I expected the dude to be flipping out, dropping F bombs, and the cop to be like "I thought you were gonna run, you made me do this!"

That being said, he should be sued by that dude and promptly removed from the force.

I think he reacted how most logical people would "this crazy fucker just shot me for next to nothing, I better mind my P's and Q's before I really piss him off"...

I could see an argument for forcing the cop into a desk job for sure... as a concealed carrier if you have a ND and shoot someone you're going to be in a world of hurt both financially and legally... why should a police officer be any different?

Unfit for law enforcement. Maybe unarmed dog catcher. Civil suit would be my next move.

How different that would've been without the cameras. I take the rider will be compensated if he's smart and lawyers up.

WTF! Pursuit my ass unless it was before the video starts. Don't know about anyone else here but I've been pulled over at night, didn't even know the officer was behind me until I saw the lights on the back side of road signs. I'm glad that officer Wong wasn't a trigger happy moron.

He starts swearing after the first shot, then you hear another shot. That's some SLOOOOOWW brain to muscle reaction time if you ask me.

1) I did not see a need for the officer to draw his gun.
2) The officer calls it in on the radio as an accidental discharge of weapon.
HE FIRED THE GUN TWICE . You can't fire the gun 2x and say it
was an accident. Freaking amazing.

I would be lawering up if I was that kid and suing the hell out of that police dept.. Cop blaming shooting on muscle memory from the range 20 days ago is bullshit. He screwed up and should pay.

Amen to this ^. The muscle memory stuff maxed out my BS meter. I spent all afternoon on Sunday at the range shooting 22lr, 38 special, 9mm, and 45. I sure as heck don't have "muscle memory twitchy finger" from it. What a crockashit.
