american top gear is sad... i enjoy some episodes but the BBC one is SOOOO much better. as for the toughest truck one god that show made me more angry than anything else. terrible lines, terrible approach angles, nose diving into riverbeds, hitting water at high rates of speed, etc. all of those trucks could of easily made it through if common sense was applied.

imo they tried too hard to make it funny and looked completely idiotic.

isnt that the whole point of the show tho lol.

but like i said before i totally agree, everyone of those trucks coulda made it no problem had they actually driven them like a normal wheeler woulda.

Ha! That was good. The cabin coming out was funny, the Chevy driving thru it was even better.

I agree the BBC version is much better but it's their first season. Some of the humor seems forced or contrived, but some of it is genuinely hilarious. (teaching a blind guy to drift) It is also one of the few gearhead shows without fake ass deadlines or high school girlie drama.

Speed's powerblock doens't have made up dead lines or high school drama. And one can actually learn something watching those shows too. "musclecar" is my favorite. "gears" is proably 2nd.
However all shows pale in comparison to the true Top Gear. Of coarse MotoGP, superbike, and ama hold the #1, 2 and 3 spots on the DVR. One must kep their priorities straight.

I miss my 92 Toyota Pickup. But as stated all of them could have made it if not driven like complete asses.
BBC Top Gear is the best show on TV period. And now that we get the full unedited version it has become even better. The humor in History Channels version did seemed forced at first but it seemed to have found it's groove by this episode and it might be better next year.

It's part of my cable package. It's BBC America, some people say the show is a bit different than the Euro version although I'm not sure in what ways.

If you like Dr. Who you are a season behind on BBC America. Also edited. I think they only went to the unedited version of TG just to keep some fans when in reality they were never in any danger of loosing them to HC's TG.

i found the episode of american top gear where tanner raced the skiers against the evo.... AT MAMMOTH MTN!!! i ski there at least 3x a year! i would LOVE to drive an evo on the ski trails at mammoth!

but.... in the 20min trip it takes the skiers to get from the bottom gondola, to the very top, then down to little eagle lodge (takes me about 25min or so to do that exact run)... there is NO WAY it coulda gone from bluebird skies, and packed powder, to cloudy / snowing and 2 ft of fresh powder, then back to packed powder.... seems like to me they were up there late season, and got hit by one of the 2 to 3 ft snow dumps we had in april haha.

Also.... u dont get off at the middle gondola to get on another... u stay on the same one to go to the middle and the top.

I just found it a lil lol.
