I did check out the honda CRF450L, got very excited when I heard honda was again putting out a road legal dirt bike in Australia.
BUT....The honda costs almost twice as much and only puts out 25hp? WTF!!???!? heavily restricted?
Here in Australia we get the dirt bike version of the DRZ400. It's got an E on the end. Puts out about 35 to 40hp. The restrictions have been removed by the dealer. It has a steel frame, doesn't bother me and also a carburetor, also doesn't bother me since it's a single. Something else I like is that the Suzuki is simple, no complicated electronics. Shit tons of aftermarket stuff and heaps of advice on forums. The DRZ400 has been around for a while and is bullet proof, except for the engine side cases. I've spent months thinking it over. I'm not racing just flogging around the bush and beach. This bike is not my pride and joy, my 919 is. It's just a fun toy. Also at nearly half the price of the CRF450L money talks. At lot of my mates ride quad bikes, I had one as well. They are fun but I prefer two wheels. Faster, lighter and I can ride on the road. No more trailer.
