3 Days of Awesome

Last weekend 9 of us did a 3-day/1000km ride from the Okanagan, out through the Kootenays, down into Washington state and back up into the Okanagan again.

3 days of spectacular roads and incredibly good weather.

Word to the wise.... if you're in the Coleville/Tanasket WA area, stop at Rancho Chica for some of the best friggen Mexican food you've ever eaten.

Anyway, I made a video of the first leg of the Journey. I have shit-tonnes of footage so when I get around to it I'll probably make another vid.

Excellent video!! Great job on capturing, the angles, and editing. Say, how you liking them bar-end mirrors compared to the round ones on your avatar?

Wow! How freaking Canadian was that. Beautiful British Columbia and the Tragically Hip. I normally don't like music in riding vids, but the Hip was just perfect and totally complimented the awesome camera work and video editing.

In eight minutes you made what looked like an epic ride look like an epic ride. What a video! Thanks for sharing.

I really missed out this summer. I had planned to take a week off from work and ride through BC and Washington. The plan was to start just east of Seattle and take the back roads up to Whistler, follow 99/97 east to Vernon, take 6 from Vernon to Salmo, then follow 3 west to Abbotsford, and spend a couple more days riding the North Cascades highway, eastern WA, and all the twisties around Mt. Rainier before heading home.

Unfortunately, my plans changed.... My wife's friend moved down to the Oregon coast, and the two of them bought a coffee shop, so we were down there a number of weekends working to get it ready to open. Now our schedule is so full, I can only get away for 1 day at a time to ride.

Hopefully next summer will work out better and I can spend a few days riding through BC!

I was going to open a Coffe shop in the mountains of NC. It was to look like a little log cabin and I was going to call it "Morning Wood" ahhhh the things we want to do....

Thread Hijack over.

I had to watch this video again when I got up this morning. Still Amazing the second time around.

Awesome video!

Looks like you guys have been riding together for a while, you all seemed very 'aware' of each other and safe. Nothing makes a ride more relaxing than when you're all riding with that in mind.

Great video. Riding video's usually get boring after about 2 minutes, but yours is great. Nice job. Great music too.

Very nice. We did BC in 2001 crossing at Grand Forks, then on to Kelowna, Kamloops, and up the Yellohead South Highway to Jasper, Alberta. Thanks for the reviving the memories. Great job on the video.

I had 3 GoPro cameras on my bike. Unfortunately found out the one facing forward on the right side was only SD but the B&W footage turned out pretty cool I think. My buddy on the S1000 also had a 720p camera mounted on his helmet. Don't remember what kind it was.

I used Adobe Premiere for the editing. I had been waiting a LONG time to use the Hip in a vid cuz I wanted that bridge on hwy 6

thx again

The mirrors in the avatar are the same ones in the vid Just have them mounted slightly differently. They are just the cheap ChiCom mirrors from eBay but they work pretty good. Maybe CRGs one day... Maybe... :P

That's really NOT what I was hoping you were going to say you did with your wife and her friend... :P

That ride sounds great though. If you're every up this way it would be great to get in a 919 ride

Actually not as long as you would thing. They are a great group though. I don't get the sketchy vibe from any of them.

Notice that the little 919 was leading the pack for most of that ride I was SHREDDING! I need better suspension now....
