Wind Powered Cell chargeer?

This looks really interesting!
Wind-powered iPhone battery charger concept

I'd sport this if it wasn't just for the iphone/pod. I'd put it so it caught the wind right below my headlight. I think it's less invasive than running a cord from my battery and if I'm driving over 20mph, the phone is charging. I wonder how one could make on of these work for a non-iphone?

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

At the bottom of the same page there's a link to a wind/solar charger for "all your handheld gadgets."
Kinesis builds combination wind/solar recharger for mobile devices
A primary difference is the kinesis is an actual product one can buy. Plus it's got solar also: Kinesis Industries - K3 Charger
The iPhone wind powered charger is just a concept. It'd be great to have one for my 919. Probably couldn't take the 100+ mph bursts though!

lol.... ya that assembly is VERY prototype... and someone needs to get with them to tell them to redo their blade design... cus that fan blade assembly is not ment to be efficient being spun by air... its efficient at pushing air if its driven by a motor.

I'm not that green. Plus, if I'm already riding/driving a vehicle with a 12V charging system, I'll just tap into that.

Good point, just thought that if I were on the road and didn't have a wire tapped into my system, this would have come in handy since I use my EVO for gps, music, reservation maker, and camera. It looses juice quick and just having a contant stream from something that can be detached quickly and put on my pedal bike too seemed like a fun idea...but yeah, those fan blades not so great.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

Yeah like I'm going to stand out in the wind holding up my Iphone for a couple of hours until it's charged?
